Very entertaining, but probably right up there with the 9/11 troofers for accuracy.

Yeah it really didn't seem all that concrete. But still, there's not much you can do after 'child sex ring' gets thrown around...

They have started demolition as of this morning.  They are using a wrecking ball on the southeast portion of the building.

I thought this build was built like a tank, but apparently that was just a look.  It's going to come down fast.  There are two cranes on site, the second showed up the other day, but they are only using one if them.  Photos later.

It's a phenomenon called ruin porn. (Legit term) We kinda like looking at old ruined buildings, which is why ruined Detroit is so popular.

Is it that the wrecking ball truck looks like it has a smiley face with a goatee?

Funny thing is, it was really close to being a double rainbow.

I'm sure demo goes quicker when you don't have to work around anything that's occupied.

I didn't go by today, but yesterday when I was there they were bashing in the 4th or 5th floor and they frickin LOST THE BALL!!!  It was unbelievable,  they hit the floor and the floor fell, they went to lift up the ball and the ball was gone!  When I left there were two guys climbing the pile of rubble.  I am sure OSHA wouldn't approve...

According to the story from the World Herald.  The project will create around 300 jobs and be completed by Spring 2015.

I was hoping that article would have a rendering of the new building, no such luck.

Are they referring to construction jobs? That's always a bullshit way of looking at jobs created. They're not really creating 300 new jobs, they're giving 300 construction workers a new project to work on. Once the building is done, there will be 300 people without a job again.

No,
it is expected to create at least 250 jobs, about 150 of which would be medical professionals such as doctors and nurses, plus 50 administrative employees and 50 hourly employees.
I agree with the construction jobs though, they quote those jobs a lot of times but those positions are only temporary for 1-2 years during construction.  But it does sound like this would be the number of actual positions created within the building.[/img]

Very small rendering on Tetrad's home page, called the Think Primary Care Facility. I can't seem to find a bigger one.

Looks sharp. The angle and varied color of the glass really seems to do an otherwise cubical building quite a bit of justice.

When I went by here on Sunday, it looked like they were putting the foundations in. Just from a quick glance, it looked like it's built on augercast piles, which go in relatively fast. I imagine we'll see formwork up out of the ground in a couple months.

A lot of dirt has show up in site in the past two days too. Not sure if they need to surcharge part of it or if they are just leveling out the east end of the site.
