I've shown this to a handful of people now and every time I watch it I realize how damn clever it is, well done.

Tried to take a pic of the empty lot over the weekend, but there isn't a good viewpoint of this place, except for the office building to the West....

No, there is no surcharge here yet. City forced them to seed the property after the demo since after every rainfall the lot kept creeping north. Still no timeline here. Maybe after other projects get finished, time will tell...

Drove by here today....nothing new to report. I am not sure if the area looked better before the buildings were demolished or now. Either way, it will be easier to develop now that the buildings are gone.

Considering none of the buildings on the property were attractive or worth salvaging, It's a definite improvement. If UV is still working on the development, I imagine they're just pacing themselves, since they have a fair number of other projects going on, and I'm sure this one will require quite a bit of financing.

I live right down the street in one of the UV building, and I am waiting ever so patiently for some progress here.

I would rather have the vacant lot than have the old red building back. Trash was always spewing out the back and piled up. Image

The little store front has always been empty as long as I can recall and at one time had a large N painted on the front. The back portion used to be apartments five units I think, they weren't painted red until sometime in 2010 or 2011.

Aside from the tire store and hispanic mission, there were only a few rundown residential units, and the rest was pavement. The green space looks a lot better until something new gets built.

The last business in the red storefront was an advertising agency called "Ferrari Ferrari and Davidson". They left in about 1983.

I hope it's not there to combat the mass waisting of that lot but rather there for you know..

Yeah, I noticed excavation too this week. I wonder if the buildings are still according to the original plan. Has anyone seen anything come across for permits?

Well, it is winter. It's a bit harder to do work when the ground starts freezing.

I heard a rumor today that this project will be two(?) smaller buildings instead of one six-story building.

In that same post (on the eomaha facebook page) he still called it a "Mid-rise".
