Urban Storage Building (13th & Leavenwoth)

Post by Coyote »

I know I have an old thread about this building from the time SOMA was being built, but...
This building houses The Nebraska at the Market, the Addicted Cup Coffee, and now the Old Market Signature Soup Shoppe:

I must say I love how well all of these new places opening up DT compliment the rest of DT!

Tim from Timmy's Treehouse told me today that he went and got his stuff out of Nebraska at the Market because they have closed.

He did say they are looking a new location closer in to the old market. He said it will be after the first of the year.

I am guessing that means the " Old Market Signature Soup Shoppe" is also closed?

I don't think so, they are a different business sharing that first floor space. They are open today.

I take that back. The building has been sold and Signature Soup and the Coffee place will also need to vacate soon, the soup place thought about relocating, but it would be a financial hardship for the owner.

“This building has an incredible story and history. We want to restore the building to its old glory while implementing the right businesses and even the right technology to bring it into the future of what Omaha is becoming. Self-storage is a huge need here and we want to show the community how well that can be done.”

The facility is in a good location in downtown Omaha and is ready to serve college students, urban dwellers, local businesses, and young professionals in the area. Like other facilities, it will have competitive rates and climate controlled units, but it will be the only facility in Omaha equipped for climate-controlled wine storage.

“People need to feel good about where their possessions are stored,” says Regier. “We want to be the place that they think of first when they need self-storage and we want to support the needs of downtown Omaha as more people move this direction.”

What will set The Storage Loft apart from many facilities is its unique modular approach. Typically people choose a unit, agree to a contract length and that is where they are for the duration of their contract. At The Storage Loft, tenants will be able to change units as their need for self storage changes.

“Modularized storage is the next evolution of storage,” Regier says. “Not only do people’s space needs change, they also need the ability to easily get in and out of their units. Modular storage gives them multiple points of access.”

I believe "Natural Ventures" a Personal Improvement and a Coffee shop is going in to replace the ground floor retail here.
