There are significant costs associated with winter construction, especially starting earthwork and foundations in the winter. If an owner wants to start in the winter, the general contractor wouldn't say no. It's probably a financial decision.
Thinking there's not a whole lot to say anymore now that people listen & she has to make sense.

Not to mention supplemental heat (usually propane) required for certain stages of construction, especially during the extreme cold months.

The project has gone through 2 different GC's providing estimates to the owner with the owner bocking each time saying the cost is to high. Then finding a new GC to rebid the same project. What the owner doesn't realize is the site for what they want to build is a tight site and due to the building requirements it drives up the cost. The owner could have chosen a better site and the finances would have been more favorable.

I didn't get a good look, but there's a crane or some big thing on site now.

DC Assessor could just be waiting for an update, but the duplexes that were torn down have different ownership than the hotel. They are owned by Greenslate, the Blackstone developers. Maybe they have intentions of building something like a 50 unit apartment building here.

Did we ever figure out what they're building to the east of the hotel? The assessor's site doesn't currently list an owner. It only indicates that the parcels were part of a sale that split or combined them.

That’s it thank you. And I even commented in the thread. I’ll choose to attribute it to so much development in Omaha recently that I can’t keep track of it all.

Wow... That is finally coming along. Still cant believe how that all fits on that small lot. Surely, one cannot pull into it off Dodge, right? Im guessing you have to be on Saddlecreek. Its all so tight.
I can get pushed out because I'm "too much" for some. Then, an observer of me comes suddenly swooping in to "fill my shoes." People are always more accepting of the new one, because their feathers aren't truly ruffled by them. (Yawn) I can count on it every time.
