I'm really excited about the exclusivity of this brand.

What about us old suburban dipsters?
My son got a 27 on his ACT. No this score is not as high as what Jeff's son achieved. But one has to remember the paternal gene-pool my son has to overcome. On a PGPAB [Paternal Gene-Pool Adjusted Basis], my son's score is a 37 and Jeff's son's PGPAB ACT score is 19.

You are welcome. I wasn't going to go out Sunday, but after last weeks dreary shots, and yesterday's of the Cranes, I wanted to get a few of these with the good lighting.

Yesterday, when I was driving through Farnam, I saw a guy taking pictures of the hotel and I thought "This guy must be one of the eomaha guys". Actually, the Escape on the picture is mine. Sorry for being in the middle.

I actually was waiting for someone to remind me it was only 20 outside on a Sunday morning and wonder why in heck I was out with my camera.
Re: Even Hotel (Omaha Hotel - 24th and Farnam)
The whole thing is covered in scaffolding, bu on the east end you can see the dark brick on the upper floors. Going to look really slick.

Re: Even Hotel (Omaha Hotel - 24th and Farnam)
I saw the brick yesterday it is going to look really nice. I was starting to think the finished building was going to be green insulation.
It is testimony to how well downtown development has been going that we have a 5 story urban hotel with integrated parking and a 4 story apartment building with ground level retail (Highline 2.0) under construction a block from each other this far from the Old Market or Midtown and it gets very little attention.

Agreed. I'm hoping the surrounding area will continue to fill in with more projects like this one.Joe_Sovereign wrote: It is testimony to how well downtown development has been going that we have a 5 story urban hotel with integrated parking and a 4 story apartment building with ground level retail (Highline 2.0) under construction a block from each other this far from the Old Market or Midtown and it gets very little attention.

I think the Flats on Howard project might have the biggest impact on the area's street life simply because of the small size of the rental spaces. Smaller units help get people spending time in their neighborhood instead of the extra spaces in their home.Joe_Sovereign wrote:I saw the brick yesterday it is going to look really nice. Plus the Smoke Pit retail center should help the area too!

I don't have a pic of the bricks, but agree, this is looking slick!

What attachment did you use? I need one if those too.
Re: Even Hotel (Omaha Hotel - 24th and Farnam)
I guess the dark brick wasn't going to come out weird like I thought it would.

For those of you who haven't been down to see it it's hard to convey just how much this fills out and changes the ambiance of the area.

Re: Even Hotel (Omaha Hotel - 24th and Farnam)
Absolutely. When I worked downtown I used to park on the lot that this displaced. This whole stretch along Farnam was such a wasteland. I wish something like a Highline 2.0 could go into that lot west of the bank drive-thru. It'd really close the surface lot gaps and be a nice extension of downtown.MTO wrote:For those of you who haven't been down to see it it's hard to convey just how much this fills out and changes the ambiance of the area.

Hopefully this Spurs other development, this area of downtown needs it.MTO wrote:For those of you who haven't been down to see it it's hard to convey just how much this fills out and changes the ambiance of the area.

Owns the building to the west
Re: Even Hotel (Omaha Hotel - 24th and Farnam)
Incredible what it's done for that corner. Am I crazy or did I once read that there may be a Holiday Inn Express going onto that plot to the west?
Big props to whoever purchases the stables to the east and builds something there....

Re: Even Hotel (Omaha Hotel - 24th and Farnam)
There is word around town that a Holiday Inn Express will be built to the south of the Even Hotel.
Re: Even Hotel (Omaha Hotel - 24th and Farnam)
It would be great to see that fed bank property developed better.Coyote wrote:There is word around town that a Holiday Inn Express will be built to the south of the Even Hotel.
Re: Even Hotel (Omaha Hotel - 24th and Farnam)
Aren't there still Fed employees that work there?

Re: Even Hotel (Omaha Hotel - 24th and Farnam)
Love this going up! I've been looking over and watching that go up (while on Dodge, or a street further north of it). Thanks for the picture updates.
I can get pushed out because I'm "too much" for some. Then, an observer of me comes suddenly swooping in to "fill my shoes." People are always more accepting of the new one, because their feathers aren't truly ruffled by them. (Yawn) I can count on it every time.

Maybe we should start a thread in the rumors section?Coyote wrote:There is word around town that a Holiday Inn Express will be built to the south of the Even Hotel.
