Building's car history won't take a back seat

Hupmobile's showroom found intact. Restaurant to follow?

What's opening? I remmeber the story and they never specified a restaurant. They just stated they were hoping to coax a restaurant into locating there. Any hints?????

Apparently the restaurant project did not come to fruition. The 1917 Hupmobile Building is back on the market. $1,250,000.

I remember that Landmarks, Inc. (back when they were around) put the Hupmobile building on their endangered buildings list. Looks like things are turning around finally. I expect that we will see a lot more rehabs like this after the start of the year.

From Restoration Exchange's Facebook, the Hupmobile Building unanimously passed being nominated to the National Register of Historic Places. Final approval will come from the National Park Service.

I have a feeling this building will be rehabbed in the near future.

According to Restoration Exchange's monthly newsletter, the Hupmobile Building is owned by J-Development out of Council Bluffs. Paul Nelson of PEN Architects is drawing up plans. I expect this to be rehabbed after the new year.

Looks like this is nearly a wrap. The 2bed 1 bath units are listed at $1,195 and about 980 s.f.

Grace fitness moved into the commercial space in this building. They were previously in the Kellog hotel building.
