Coyote I saw you asked about these on FB, but I figure this deserves its own thread.

The apartments north of Dodge on Turner Blvd apparently rehab is planned with BVH attached to it.

Yeah, I thought these were toast, but looks like someone is investing I them. They need work, especially its facade...

I believe BVH is the architect for this rehab project.

In charge... But again... Who is behind this project? Whose money is in?

Very true. I don't know. I'm think we'll know more in the coming weeks.

I would assume it is an Urban Village project since these buildings are carbon copies of their Art Deco project on Park Ave.

Imperative Voice claims the developer is J Development. Their projects include the Lydia House, 3 Point Lofts in CB, Slowdown complex, etc. Urban Village would've done a good job though.

However, it will be fun to see what another developer does with the apartments to make them different from the "Art Decos" on Park, since the buildings are the same.

I could be mistaken, but wasn't the Slowdown complex Bkuestone?

J Development's website lists the Slowdown complex as one of their projects. But Bluestone did do the 22 Floors apartments just down the street. I was under the impression it was someone else as well.

This will be a nice improvement for the area. My wife and I looked at a unit there in December 2009. They used to be nice buildings, but they've been trashed in the last 100 years. EVERYTHING inside was covered in many layers of paint, not just the usual doorknobs and hinges, but they'd even painted over the glass in the french doors between the living and dining room.

I saw construction machinery out front of the apartments across from Turner park. Anyone know if they are they being renovated? Torn down?

It is a rehab.
2015/june/22 » An $8.6 million rehabilitation of the historic Turner Park Apartments, 3102-3106 Dodge St., and an adjacent apartment building would receive up to $495,000 in TIF.

That is what a low income apt. goes for these days? That is not what I would have thought.
