The old building on Cuming will be replaced by a new 70,000 SF building and will then be torn down.

The Salvation Army is putting $375K into the former Walgreen's on the SW corner of 61st and NW Radial/Military/Saddle Creek as a Community Service Center.

"Renaissance Village" is the name for the new facility. The groundbreaking ceremony was held a few days ago.

The March OWH says 36 new apartments here but the proposal to the planning departments In June 2015 calls for "49 residential units, which will include studios, 1-bedroom and 2-bedrooms" Either way a few more for the lists. The two existing apartments buildings on this campus will also stay.
Here is the OWH article. http://www.omaha.com/news/metro/salvati ... 811e5.html

Transitional housing?
When fortune smiles on something as violent and ugly as revenge, it seems proof like no other that not only does God exist, you're doing his will.

Appears to be new housing being constructed at the current salvation army location. Does that mean that this place is dead?
