That was a joke - it's getting stripped down like the Carlos O'Kelly's on 132nd and Maple. I don't believe there is any word on what this site will become.

Perkins building has been torn down. I swear it was there yesterday! All the rubble has been hauled away. I checked a few weeks ago & the real estate transfer has gone thru and is now owned by Bucky's. Little strange that there's a Bucky's at 42 & Grover, 60th & Center & 84th & Frederick. Guess you'll never run out of gas if you're in the area!

It's an Anderson. Funny thing is he got his start with Ray Anderson. Ray sold him his first station at 50th & Dodge. I was told that by Ray's son, you know the one who is the photographer. lol

I wonder how long that Anderson BP will stay in business. It looks so out of place now that all the hotels in the area have been getting remodeled. At least the Perkins land won't be dormant long then.

Just did a quick check. The one in CB at the Lake Manawa exit is the only one left in the metro.

After listening to the traffic planners at our meeting the other day, this intersection may be one of the prime escape routes to the west from Baxter, which means this location may have customers galore before and after games. I don't know if Bucky's had this in mind when they bought out Perkins... But this may be one of the steals of the decade...

This was mentioned in another thread too, but this station is going to be a Shell station. I think this will make it their 31st station in the Omaha metro. Most of them are BP's. Looks like they currently have 46 stations in the Chicago area and 5 in the St. Louis area.

For the most part it all comes from the same pipeline and terminal tanks as I understand it. The difference being the few gallons of (additive) that is put in the truck or at the point of use.

I'm not familiar with how a fuel terminal works, but considering that there are just two which serve the Omaha area, it wouldn't surprise me that brand specific additives are blended at the tank farm. Bucky's is mostly BP, but they have a few unbranded stations. That allows them to shop around for fuel and get the best deal.

This is how it has been explained t me anyway by someone that worked in the industry. Company A produces grade Z fuel and and pays a few to move it from point to point. It gets mixed with other refineries of the same grad going to the same place. It only is branded on the paperwork until it goes to a deleivery truck from the termanal and the "special sauce" is added. There are exceptions but not many as explained to me.

Not sure if it was mentioned but there is already a BP station directly across the street from this new station. Perhaps BP didn't want two stations that close and wouldn't sponser this new BUCKYs?

Most of them are BP, in fact, all the Omaha area ones that I know of except for one off of Hwy 370 in Bellevue was a BP until the recent ones. But with there already being a BP and 72nd and Grover and one at 79th and Dodge, it makes sense that the new ones are branded differently.

If you were already getting Gas, you were at the Anderson BP on the NE corner, the new Bucky's Shell is still under construction on the SE corner.
