Convent Place Apartments

Post by iamjacobm »

This building off of 24th Street near St. Mary's is getting a zoning request. The request is from Nustyle, we all know what that means.

Nice, this will fit in along nicely with the Howard District conversions and continue the momentum in this area! Only thing I am hoping, is that some of these places remain relatively affordable.

This building is at 541 S 24th St. Where did the name Convent Place come from? I have known it to be called Ponderosa Suites, and the Noddway in the past.

Got it. It must be some sort of tie in to the property next door, at one time the church was (or is) for sale as well.

Yeah I didn't catch the difference in names when I made this.

In this area, or in general? I would definitely say no for either. There a bunch of buildings up Farnam that I really like that seem ripe for the taking. I know of only one (Hupmobile) that's being renovated now.

It's not exactly nearby but there are two brick buildings on 18th & Howard that would perfect for apartments.

Re: Convent Place Apartments AKA Sterling

No Surprise here and nothing new really, but in reviewing the current fate of this building it has been re-named The Sterling and is part of the Flats on Howard aka Block 22 project. The website for this one is at http://www.theflatsonhoward.com/omaha-a ... erling.asp

Another great rehab!

The enlarged windows and dark mullions are going to be a HUGE improvement over the filled-in stucco and white vinyl windows there now.

New windows are in and lights were on after dark. Looking sharp!
