On a piece of land off of Owen Pkwy Circle there is grading work being done and a construction trailer on site. Looks like a decent sized structure could be going there. Not having a lot of luck finding specific info online.

That large triangle lot on the east side of Abbott Drive? Sandwiched between the Railroad and Freedom Park road?

This was the story from the paper back in March:

Carter Lake City Council approves plan to bring 2 new hotels to area

Mike Works with Leisure Real Estate Advisers LLC in Lincoln said his company is seeking to build the two hotels near Abbott Drive and Avenue H.
"We would like to replace the Holiday Inn Express with something new to open next spring," Works said. "The following year, we’d like to move another hotel in that area as well."
The first hotel, a $4.25 million project, will feature 85 rooms, with the second featuring 80 rooms.

I am so tired of the box within or on a box theme every building gets these days. SAC hq did it, they did it in aksarben village, some of the new condos adjacent to the old market have it, etc. Its what they did over the entrance on this one. We had to endure the helicoptor landing pad look like in in north downtown, and now this. What ever happened to originality?
