I love it, but I'm sure there's some established individuals in the OM who balk at the thought of some new construction ruining the kitschy feel of their neighborhood.

They'll surely refine the design down the road. This type of development is exactly what should be supported in Omaha.

I certainly hope not. They'll surely refine the design. This type of development is exactly what should be supported in Omaha.

Out of curiosity, are there any other examples of This kind of construction.

I know there's the limelight, but that building still looks all modern.

Any other historic looking buildings with modern construction on top?

Other than Limelight in Omaha aI don't think so. Happens plenty in other cities though.

I didn't think so but thought I'd ask just in case. I should have indicated I meant just in Omaha.

This should be a good start, and I know there are plenty of one or two story historic buildings in Downtown and Midtown that are prime candidates for this type of construction.

The building on the northwest corner of 10th and Dodge is an old building two story building that had a third floor added about 10 years ago.

I believe that this is a part of the historic district, I wonder how those plans were approved?

Does that sign in the rendering say "Second Chance"? I don't remember Second Chance Antiques being there?

Yes. That location was the fourth of their five locations, moving in 2013 when the building was sold to make way for Brickway Brewery.

Hope this happens, we'll have a great view to see how exactly they take apart a roof and add the lift etc.
