Will they still have the same menu?

Good to hear if true. I hope that they are able to retain some of the menu. We are hoping to make our farewell trip there tomorrow night.

Anyone eat at the Bohemian House in the river north area of downtown Chicago?
It's like an upscale version of Bohemian Cafe. Would be awesome if a talented chef brought something similar to this location.

Some good German food, and really anything that wasn't swimming in gravy would be a step up. Gerda's is good, but it is now alone. Sisters Cafe has changed owners and cut down their German offerings. We could use a return to Edelweiss level food.

Attempted to eat there last night, but once again there were about 100 people waiting in a line out the door. Figured with 2 little kids under 3 we better go somewhere else. Might get off work early tomorrow and give it a try right when they open at 3 pm.

From our experience last week, it looks like going in the middle of the Nebraska football game on Sat. night would be the shortest line. Of course, it is an away game at night plus their last night so even that might not work.

No clear word on who yet. Concept still in doubt. Not sure if it will be revamped or changed completely.

According to the story in the World Herald yesterday, the building has not been purchased, although several offers have been made.

Was told that the developer of this area got all the buildings and lot they wanted and will be moving forward. Heard that 3 established mid-town business are looking to open new locations there.

Hi, could I have the images of the Bohemian Cafe as I want to make the same here in Australia. I visited its once and I really admire its lighting.
Developer buys Bohemian Cafe, surrounding buildings as part of effort to boost commercial activity in area
The first tenant was just secured. Boho Rice, a new Chinese restaurant, will take half the bumper and auto structure, Mason said. It will be run by Nick Bartholomew, proprietor of Over Easy and The Market House.

This area has so much potential. Lets hope they do it right.

Good to see they want to preserve what's there. This neighborhood is definitely ready to pop.

Oh! I hope it stays the same. My last name is actually Hungarian in origin, so that cafe represents my ancestors. We all love that "gem" of a restaurant in Omaha.

I'm sure they have their differences, but it is the same general area of the world, too. Prague & Budapest are fairly close to one another. My entire life, when somebody asked what ethnicity my last name was, I always said "It's Bohemian...basically a mix of Polish & German." I sometimes mentioned Czech. (My brother looks Czech.) Now, I've learned "Bohemian" is not quite what I said. It is more Czech/Hungary in origin. My grandpa has listened to Polka (a Czech dance) his entire life and we even bought him a "Boheiman Cafe" t-shirt. So, we are "Bohemian." However, according to a website on last/surnames, my last name originates in Hungary. However, with a swipe of my saliva to send to Ancestory.com's labs, I learn my "genetic cocktail" really puts Hungary/Czech on the backburner behind Western Europe for me (Germany, Belgium, Switzerland) and Great Britian & Ireland. I'm so thrilled to be part Irish! I even have some Italian/Greek & Russian. That Ancestory.com really is interesting. (What's unique is your very own sibling can have a very different "cocktail" than you.) Anyways, hope the Bohemian Cafe remains a unique GEM to dine in Omaha.

I like it. Could be a great complement to the tiny house bar across the street.

Night Owl posted on Facebook it will be called Fizzy’s Fountain and Liquors.
Omaha's Infusion Brewing Co. is planning to open a new taproom in the former Bohemian Cafe building.
The new Infusion Little Bohemia Beer Hall will be located in the north section of the building, 1406 S. 13th St., next door to Fizzy's Fountain & Liquors, which is due to open in the building later this year.
Owners hope to open the new Infusion location in late summer.
"We are beyond excited to be part of the rebirth of this great neighborhood," Infusion owner Bill Baburek said in a press release. "My grandparents emigrated from Bohemia around the turn of the 20th century and settled in this area of Omaha. And, growing up in this neighborhood, I spent many evenings dining at the Bohemian Cafe."
The 2,000-square-foot taproom will host special events, including live music on weekends. The brewery plans to periodically offer catered Bohemian dinners along with live polka music.

That's weird. They just posted an event on their Facebook page an hour ago for a Czech Ghoulash Dinner event scheduled for February 3 (and doesn't appear to say anything about it being a "goodbye" event or anything).

It does say it's a sublease, so just part of the building?

My guess would be a full sublease, but with limits on what the lesee can do with the property. Since it won't be a new lease, and Infusion is theoretically still responsible for the lease, they likely won't be allowing large scale demolition or turning it into a new concept. If you want to least it, you're probably limited to something that closely resembles a czech beer hall. But, it won't carry the infusion name anymore. Just my guess.

Nope, and the next post also makes it seem like they are not going anywhere.

Infusion is now "Czech Inn." It seems to be the same ownership, but I'm not really sure.
