Capitol Place Apartments - 10th and Capitol

Post by iamjacobm »

I figured this project is a separate developer from the Capitol District and could use its own thread since it is moving forward.

I will update this first post later with more info and a rendering whenever that gets released.

I don't think they have applied. Not saying its not possible, but I would be surprised if I missed it.

Edit: I know they have a building permit for the foundation though, I just checked that the other day.

There is a rezoning app for this location before the city council next week. Their link isn't working for the pdf though. A rendering could be in there though.

Looks great!!! Glad to see that corner finally filling in. I always thought that when there are events going on at the Centurylink Center it looked kinda tacky to see the police cars parked in the grassy/dirt lot. This is a huge improvement.

It looks like the plan is to have the patio and 1 story portion in front of Local so it might still be kind of visible.

This building is exactly what this lot needed. This could actually end up being good for LOCAL as they won't be on an island any longer.

I agree, some of the residents of the new building will frequent Local.

They will get some business from residents, but to me it looks like Local is losing all of their visibility from CenturyLink Center.

Comparing with Google street maps, looks like they cut down about 20 trees.

Love this, so perfect for that corner. I hope something similar goes in that parking lot just to the west.

That looks amazing, definitely has a lot of potential. This little/area corner on Capitol is going to look awesome once everything is done!

It’s nice to see a dirt hole but I just hope it’s not another dig and sit project.

I heard (and maybe read in the paper) that one of the main investors is getting a condo on the top floor. I'm thinking this will help speed things along.

Yeah this has been churning fast and they have done a lot more than simple grading here.

I imagine this will be vertical sometime this fall.

If you look on the roof of DJs Dugout from the Capitol District construction camera you can see what looks like a construction cam pointed at the Capitol Place Apartments construction site. Anybody know of the website this might be on. The base went in months ago, and the camera was mounted in early May.

Appear to be starting foundation work here. Take a look at the Capitol District cam for proof.

I am having issues loading the construction cam. I cleared all my browsing history and cache, but am still unable to load the camera. Any ideas? I am able to load it on my phone though.

Not sure. I can get on, but the evidence is gone. I'll scroll back through the images and try and screen shot it sometime later.

I can get to the construction cam, there's definitely early foundation wall type things (I don't know what they are called actually) up. Can't wait till this is vertical.

Any updates on this place? I haven't gone downtown in awhile, but I might post some photo updates this weekend if there is any significant progress!

The walls to the basement have been poured. That's about it, other than the vertial supports might get started soon.

Last time I looked, the concrete foundation was in. The last couple times I went by was in the morning so I haven't taken any photos since its an afternoon shot.

There was steel going up today. It could maybe be just for the parking/retail portion then switch to sticks later.

Saw that today as well. I'm still surprised there isn't a real crane on site, but I didn't think about them switching to wood as they go up.

NGC Group, the builder here confirms that.

http://www.ngcgroupinc.com/project-port ... lding.html
This project consists of a 31,050 SF subterranean parking garage with 76 parking spaces, 109,195 SF on 5 levels with 71 apartment units, and 6,000 SF on the 6th level for a private residence. The site is very restricted for construction since it is located in a downtown setting with major streets on three sides and an existing occupied 6-level building with offices, restaurants, and residences. The first 2 floors are constructed with structural steel and concrete decks, while the other 5 floors are wood framing. The first level above the garage is a shell space built for high-end retail or office tenants with 16' to 18' ceilings. All apartment units include a private balcony, and there is an outdoor gathering space on a 2nd level rooftop for all residences.
