The actual street! Darn sewer separation woke up a hidden sludge beast that is lighting the entire city on fire!

I think he was speaking metaphorically.

I saw that yesterday....I was just going to ask if they were going to put up a sign like the renderings show.

We ate at the Zin Room next door Friday evening (packed to the gills, btw).  Anyway, we walked over to look in the window of Pickleman's afterward (open seven days, until 10 pm, according to the sign in the window).  Then we walked inside the Barker Building entrance.  Real cool.  It has been restored to its original marble luster.  Felt like a time travel back to 1925.

I wonder why they didn't change the look of the Alegent/Creighton Clinic area.  It looks terrible for this building. Maybe its just me, but it looks so much like the 70's.
They could have made it look similar to Pickle Barrel's side.

I think it looks pretty cool, personally.

This clinic is kind of a sign that downtown is becoming a true, full fledged neighborhood now, not just a place for a few urban pioneers.

I don't remember all the details, but since it was a historic building and they got some sort of break, they had to preserve a lot of the building.

I know they had to preserve different aspects of the building, but I would think that would mean to try to bring it back to its original state.  The facade on that part of the building was no doubt an add on after the building was built in the late 20's.  I just think it would look better if the ground floor bays matched each other some what like the upper floors.

It might seem small, but I noticed they installed two bike loops in front of Pickleman's.  There was always a bike locked to the light pole so this is a sign that someone was paying attention and did something about it.  Good to see.

It is probably for the delivery staff.  There are usually two delivery bikers for picklemans daily

That makes sense.  Still nice to see someone react quickly, now we just need to make sure developers consider bike infrastructure during the building process instead of after  :thumb:.

I was in the Barker again tonight working on more photos.  I was in some of the new area on the 7th floor tonight.  Its really cool because half the unit is in the new part of the building and half is in the old part of the building.  Where the two meet, they left the old brick wall exposed.  It turned out really nice!  I will see if I can get some photos posted up later.

Yep, they did an awesome job restoring it.  My favorite part, is the little dials on the elevator that show which floor its on still work!

Here is a before and after for the 7th floor:

Yes and no.  It has great views to the mall and to the old market.  Not many to the North, South, or West.

Its is really cool inside.

Pickleman's is looking to put in a small fenced in outdoor seating area.
