The progress is looking good.  I expect the construction speed to increase as they move up the building, both due to practice and rhythm as well as less variation between floors compared to the bottom.  It looks like they're still slower than the one-week floor-to-floor times that are possible with a building of that type.

I would guess one floor every other week.  Like you said, I would assume they will start to speed up soon.

I suppose when you consider what used to be on our riverfront... I shouldn't get too depressed looking at that giant concrete foundation running alongside the trail.

Did they cover the foundation of the other building in brick?  I think they will make it look nice.  The other building looks great!

Jeff, the top of that will be a green roof with trees, bushes, flowers, etc. and the base will be very well landscaped. It shouldn't be too much of an eyesore.

It's probably the sixth floor. What you caught them working on in your Apr. 20 photos was the fifth floor. There's actually two levels of parking, so the first residential floor is the third floor.

Ok.. I was Thinking G1, G2, then the floors would start.  However you look at it, 4th "above ground" floor.

So is it 13 plus two garages then or 15 plus two garages?

Gotcha. It's 13 plus the two garage levels, which ultimately yields 15 with the top floor being an amenity floor with fitness center, residents lounge, and rooftop deck.

2nd Riverfront tower on schedule

http://www.omaha.com/article/20100529/M ... n-schedule
Omaha World-Herald wrote:Construction of Riverfront Place's second condo tower is on schedule for its fall 2011 opening.

Workers from Boyd Jones Construction of Omaha are completing the seventh of the tower's 15 floors and are pouring a new floor every two weeks, said Loretta Carroll, a spokeswoman for the project. Installation of glass should start within two weeks.

More than half of the condos are sold.

My wife and I are out here in Omaha now.  We walked down to the pedestrian bridge yesterday where the progress on the second tower is coming along.  The one thing that struck me was how close the path is to the backyards of the rowhouses.  We were there around 6pm and it was pretty rowdy with all the gawking tourists and poorly-parented children running around screaming.

I also found it amusing how most of the crowd there clearly drove to the pedestrian bridge.  We walked from our apartment on 31st Ave near MTC and it didn't kill us.  It was even a good excuse to loop down into Old Market for some ice cream on the way home!

Holy cow. Well great for you guys! That's a 45 minute to one hour walk, or a 10 minute bike ride.  :)

So are you here for good now?

Yeah, we're officially Nebraskans now (we just got plates and driver's licenses today).

It was a solid hour walk, and turned out to be longer because we missed the little ped bridge behind the Qwest and ended up walking all the way around the Abbot bridge.  We were going to bike, but my wife wanted to bring the dog.  Besides, walking gave us a better view of the sketchy blocks of Farnam east of I480, haha.

Are people moving from the first building into this new one?  Do they have that option?

Yes. Some residents of the first tower have bought homes in the second. So, in a year or so, there will be some resale opportunities in Tower 1.

That structure is really moving along.  Brad, should go down and show NP Dodge how to take better photos for their Facebook page.

I noticed the other night they are about 4 floors up on the windows now.  I also think the tower will be topped out before we know it.

Its going to be 15 floors (13 finished floors and 2 garages).  If you are counting garages its the 13th.

Yes, counting the two garage levels with the in-between "half floor", the roof level right now is the 13th floor.
