Hotel has been put on hold. Issues with the proposed location. Other crane comes down next month.

This is the lot: Google Map. There is no doubt in my mind that the university/hospital is planning something for that lot, but it will be probably a few years before something is announced.

Have noticed they have been putting up their new permeant signage on the street level and on buildings this month. All of it looks sharp with the new symbol.

Does that include the signs on Dodge? Those haven't had permanent signs for years, even prior to the name change.

I'm going to enjoy seeing that buzzing down Saddle Creek and I hope it's at least somewhat visible from Dodge.

Reminds me of the artwork in Lincoln in that one lot next to...I think it's the Coffee House and Bison Witches.

There must be something in the human psyche that is drawn to obelisks. But I'm digging these modern illuminated glass ones more than the monolithic ones. Between this and Chihuli's instillation visitors from around the world should be impressed.

Who would have thought two months ago that a glass obelisk designed by a local artist to sit in front of the new cancer center, would be taller and more prominent than the new HDR world headquarters.

Not sure if its been pointed out, if it has, I have missed it.

So the tall part of the Cancer Center there is a huge sign that says "Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center". However on the longer shorter part, on the north side there is a smaller, but still large sign that says "CL Werner Cancer Hospital"

CL Werner is the founder of Werner Trucking:

Its about time. You can't even see the current ones at night that were created by just throwing a vinyl wrap over the old sign.

Those signs were defiantly half-measures but I did appreciate (at least) they were minimalist.

iExcel and the hotel are already in the works. With JPLord moving, it's just a matter of time until they announce what's going on the MMI/JPLord land.

And the AR arcade building is down the pipe but I'd imagine what goes where JP Lord is will be quite grand.
