I like the Bunny how cute this would be they might even pay for it. But I think you need to take the drum and stick and make them neon so that they show up at night and perhaps move back and forth like the drum is in use. Use the Omaha ! logo from skinzfan's avatar. I am not good at this but something like this.

Does anyone know if they even use these elevators for anything at all? They could always tear them down.
When fortune smiles on something as violent and ugly as revenge, it seems proof like no other that not only does God exist, you're doing his will.

They could but it would be very expensive to do so and I don't think anyone would have any financial incentive to do so. Its not like the land where they are is valuable for commercial or office space.

This elevator hasn't been used in 20+ years. Back in the day the Missouri Pacific Railroad had track here, but they are long gone. UP Took over the Missouri Pacific in 1982.

The graffiti on the grain elevator is already cleaned up.

These might be the tallest structure road trippers see traveling through the state. It would be a travesty to see them go.

Can't believe someone hasn't figured out something clever to do with them.

I've always thought they would make an excellent apartment project. That would be a lot of new residents in that area. Plus, right along the trail...appeal to the more active, etc. It's certainly possible. Someone contact Jay Noddle since it seems like he has a hand in everything these days. ;)

This thread is proof that many people have figured out something clever to do with them. However, nobody has the money to take on the project.

I'm not surprised that nobody wants to spend millions of dollars to do something clever with them.

FYI, the above photo is a student dormitory in Norway, complete with round rooms.

If the grain elevators were on The National Register of Historic Places or had been designated a local landmark, they would have already be torn down.

If what your implying were true HDR's new HQ would already be under construction.

It's just funny what some people want to save and the other things they couldn't care less about.

They had a clear path to destroy the Specht and adjacent buildings, but apparently they thought the bad PR it would generate was not worth it and chose not too. Or as Mr. Omaha speculated, maybe they never planned to leave the burbs to build downtown anyway and were using their leverage to help OPAS get their way.
