Re: UNO Campus Update
No problem. Who is the contractor on this? Off the top of my head, I only remember one other white tower crane, which was downtown at they Hyatt.

It is Sampson Construction.Brad wrote:No problem. Who is the contractor on this? Off the top of my head, I only remember one other white tower crane, which was downtown at they Hyatt.
Thinking there's not a whole lot to say anymore now that people listen & she has to make sense.
Re: UNO Campus Update
Sampson has also done some of the parking garages at UNL. They are also doing the new Western Hills Elementary School for OPS at 65th & Western.
He said "They are some big, ugly red brick buildings"
...and then they were gone.
...and then they were gone.
Re: UNO Campus Update
They are doing the investigational borings for the foundation of the education building/college that is to be built in Aksarben Village south of Mercy and west of Stinson Park.
Re: UNO Campus Update
As with all HRD rumors.... I recently heard that this property might be changing hands.
Re: UNO Campus Update
I don't remember how many stories the UNO bldg was to be but my husband said what they are doing now indicates what ever is going to be built will be several stories.MSizlack wrote:As with all HRD rumors.... I recently heard that this property might be changing hands.

Re: UNO Campus Update
I doubt it will be this property, but Tetrad is again looking for a new home, and they like the area...
Re: UNO Campus Update
That tower crane is very close to some overhead power lines (see left side of photo).skinzfan23 wrote:Thanks for posting the picture Brad. Re: UNO Campus Update
I saw an excavator working under powerlines right next to the new row homes on 31st street. Apparently the operators are pretty skilled at not dying.zippy wrote:skinzfan23 wrote: That tower crane is very close to some overhead power lines (see left side of photo).
Re: UNO Campus Update
They set a second base for a second tower crane at the garage site! The tower crane sections are also across the street sitting in one of the UNO parking lots.

Maybe that is why 67th was closed on Friday.Brad wrote:They set a second base for a second tower crane at the garage site! The tower crane sections are also across the street sitting in one of the UNO parking lots.

Re: UNO Campus Update
I am guessing that is due to long, narrow plot that they are building on.HR Paperstacks wrote:Two tower cranes for a garage?

Re: UNO Campus Update
Looks like the parking structure design changed quite a bit from the original rendering.
Re: UNO Campus Update
I like the new design much better, wish they would've kept the solar panels though. Also is it a level shorter in the new rendering?

T'he new rendering that Coyote took a picture of doesn't show any solar panels.MTO wrote:Those look like solar panels to me.

Oh |expletive| I glossed over that, it's smaller and lamer, F-U chancellors.skinzfan23 wrote:T'he new rendering that Coyote took a picture of doesn't show any solar panels.MTO wrote:Those look like solar panels to me.

They are assembling the tower crane on the southern portion of the project today.
Re: UNO Campus Update
I found a rendering of what appears to be the dorm building on Tetrad's website. Not sure if it is a newer or older design than the one previously posted. Also it has two names now: "Scott Crossing" and "Maverick Landing".

Cliche names, a proper noun followed by a verb.Taco wrote:I found a rendering of what appears to be the dorm building on Tetrad's website. Not sure if it is a newer or older design than the one previously posted. Also it has two names now: "Scott Crossing" and "Maverick Landing".

Re: UNO Campus Update
Brad's pics are much more clear, but here is a quick one I just snapped. The crane looks pretty tall for just a parking garage.

Looking at the crane now that the "arm" is assembled, I am wondering if they had to make it so tall to avoid the power lines.skinzfan23 wrote: The crane looks pretty tall for just a parking garage.

Re: UNO Campus Update
Why do they need 125 foot cranes for a 50 foot structure? Seems like overkill.
