Thanks for posting the picture Brad. I saw that today and was going to mention that a tower crane base was installed but forgot about it.

No problem. Who is the contractor on this? Off the top of my head, I only remember one other white tower crane, which was downtown at they Hyatt.

It is Sampson Construction.
Thinking there's not a whole lot to say anymore now that people listen & she has to make sense.

Sampson has also done some of the parking garages at UNL. They are also doing the new Western Hills Elementary School for OPS at 65th & Western.
He said "They are some big, ugly red brick buildings"
...and then they were gone.

I don't remember how many stories the UNO bldg was to be but my husband said what they are doing now indicates what ever is going to be built will be several stories.

I doubt it will be this property, but Tetrad is again looking for a new home, and they like the area...

That tower crane is very close to some overhead power lines (see left side of photo).

I saw an excavator working under powerlines right next to the new row homes on 31st street. Apparently the operators are pretty skilled at not dying.

They set a second base for a second tower crane at the garage site! The tower crane sections are also across the street sitting in one of the UNO parking lots.

Maybe that is why 67th was closed on Friday.

I am guessing that is due to long, narrow plot that they are building on.

Looks like the parking structure design changed quite a bit from the original rendering.

I like the new design much better, wish they would've kept the solar panels though. Also is it a level shorter in the new rendering?

T'he new rendering that Coyote took a picture of doesn't show any solar panels.

I found a rendering of what appears to be the dorm building on Tetrad's website. Not sure if it is a newer or older design than the one previously posted. Also it has two names now: "Scott Crossing" and "Maverick Landing".

Brad's pics are much more clear, but here is a quick one I just snapped. The crane looks pretty tall for just a parking garage.

Looking at the crane now that the "arm" is assembled, I am wondering if they had to make it so tall to avoid the power lines.

Yes, I believe there was a state declaration after the shootings on Sunday.

EDIT

Here is the declaration.

Says that it ends at sunset tonight.

Why do they need 125 foot cranes for a 50 foot structure? Seems like overkill.
