Just thinking... so this will be Catty-Corner to Culprit Cafe and not too far from a Starbucks?
It better be very unique to survive that location...

I think if this one goes more coffee and less bake shop it will be different enough.

I love that Omaha is their first U.S. location. I think it'll do very well since Omaha has an appetite for the unique.

Mercury is fantastic.

Food until 2 AM. They don't have hoods, but the food is really damn good regardless. Extensive liquor and wine selections, great craft cocktails.

Modern/contemporary downtown version of Nite Owl, if you will.

It's official: Downtown Omaha's Mercury is dressed for the holidays as "Miracle."

The bar is one of 80 across the world participating in the Miracle pop-up series, which started in New York in 2014. Mercury is the only Miracle bar in Omaha, and it'll be serving a special menu of holiday concoctions through Dec. 31. The regular food and drink menu is gone until January.

The list of holiday-themed drinks includes a snowball Old Fashioned made with gingerbread bourbon, among other ingredients; Bad Santa, a pineapple-forward hot drink; and Jingle Balls nog; among many others. Drinks come served in special holiday-themed glassware and mugs created by Cocktail Kingdom. At the end of the night, you can take a mug home for around $10. Ten percent of the glassware sales will go toward Action Against Hunger.
Also, Mercury added outdoor seating. Will be popular once spring rolls around I am sure.
