Probably the biggest thing this offers to downtown is new construction high end apartments. Some people would rather not live in a renovated warehouse and at those price levels this sounds like it will be pretty nice. I am sure there will be some issues with noise, but at a certain point living downtown is going to have some noise no matter where. I have to imagine the lofts in the Old Market get loud at 2 AM on the weekends.

Also with the architectural elements on top of this building it reaches pretty high. Jones13 and 1501 Jackson are some great additions.

Great shots, Brad. I'm sure a lot of us traditional lurkers appreciate the work/updates you do on this board.

Thanks NEDodger and welcome to the forum. I enjoy getting out to see what's going on and shooing photos.

There are several great members that really make this forum a valuable resource in Omaha. Coyote is doing a good job getting update photos as well.

I shouldn't mention names because I don't want to forget anyone, so if I do forget someone, Sorry. Iamjacob, must drive around town for a living. He seems to know about something as soon as the firs shovel is turned, or the first brick is laid. ItsAllAboutMe is that way in downtown. Cdub usually knows whats going on with everything in Omaha. Seth, Gabe, Guitarguy, Nebugeater, Skinnzfan23, Linkin5, and several others all contribute a lot of great information. Icejammer has been the go to source on CB for over a decade now. Candleshoe and the GI posse keep us all in the loop on central NE. Collin has posted a lot of great Lincoln update photos over the past couple years. It really is a team effort

I know I am forgetting others too. Sorry.

They have only put up a small amount of brick so far on this building but it appears to be very similar in color to the brick going up on 13th and Jones. There is a photo of the brick in that thread. Once they get a little more equipment out of the way, I will get a photo of the brick on this building.

I'm wondering if the facade changed a bit from the rendering. When heading down Leavenworth you can see some red(ish) paneling being put up. It looks good, but I don't see any of that on the rendering we've seen.

This is latest rendering of the project:

I have noticed some paneling going up on the east side of the building in the balconies, but it appears dark gray. Is the paneling you are referring to in a different area?

The paneling I saw this morning is on the back SW corner -- pretty hidden. It looked good next to the dark gray, but I'll have to try to get a better look tomorrow morning.

I think I saw the paneling you are talking about this afternoon. I think it looked like a shade of beige or tan, but I could be wrong, I just took a quick glance while driving by.

Went and took a closer look this morning. There's some red, but only a small amount. I wonder if we'll see much in the front?

Also, this is more the south face rather than SW corner.

That is weird that they would only do a small section like that with red.

Is it just me, or does that look like cheap plastic siding?

It probably is vinyl, but I know that I am not a big fan of vinyl even on houses, so I think it always looks cheap. Lets hope the finishing touches on this building look good.

Hopefully it's cement board siding instead of vinyl. Hard to believe vinyl would be allowed code-wise in the CBD, due to its flammability.

From the photo, it does appear to have a bit of sheen to the colored finish. Hopefully those are the pre-finished cement board semi-glossy colors, rather than vinyl. Maybe one of you fancy camera guys can snap a pic with a 400mm telephoto lens, or sneak in and get a close-up.

This same style of siding is also on the balconies in front of the building. Not expecting it to look very good if that ends up being the finishes.

I actually really like the color combination with the straight lines, reminds me of Northwest architecture.

The siding is installed on all of the balconies today. Didn't see any on the front sides of the building other than that though.

The siding is going up and it is the flat material ala jLofts instead of the siding in back of this building.
