Looks like they are almost done with the parking garage.. Should move about as fast as Jones13 once they are putting up the wood section.

Nice, that shot only looks nice in the morning, on a sunny day!

Thanks for all the update shots. I think we hit all the same spots this weekend. I just never got to posting mine yet.

Nice! That is going to be a really cool block with the old brick tucked into the new build.

I agree....and it is definitely better than the parking lot that was there.iamjacobm wrote:Nice! That is going to be a really cool block with the old brick tucked into the new build.

Nice photo! That angle puts it into perspective really well and shows how it fills that block in.

This one is going up another floor.
3 projects all making downtown a little more dense.

From the World Herald:
http://www.omaha.com/article/20140320/M ... apartmentsThe 1501 Jackson Apartments in downtown Omaha are on track to open in June — but pre-leasing of the six-level complex will begin on April 1...Rents range from $950 to $2,595 (that's for a penthouse with extra amenities).

I have a hard time imagining someone paying over $1,000 to live across the street from the fire station. I live in Union Plaza next door, and a big part of the reason it's so cheap for downtown space (600 for a 1-bedroom) is because of the fire station.
(Btw I've been reading this site daily since like 2007 but never comment. So, Hi!)

I see people paying for this. Close to the Max, old market, and a grocery storeJDJase wrote:I have a hard time imagining someone paying over $1,000 to live across the street from the fire station. Re: 1501 Jackson (5 Story Apt Building)
When there are many other options in the area with the exact same benefits, without the fire station, for the same price? I don't doubt that these will go fast at first, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if there's a high turnover rate. People can underestimate the activity of living next to a very busy fire station. The trucks on the east side of the station always turn south onto 15th street (the WRONG way) to go west on jackson, while blasting the horn continuously and driving very slow (since they are, after all, going the wrong way and through intersections). 20 seconds feels a long time with a fire engine horn and siren blasting into your living room/bedroom multiple times per hour all day and night.Omaha_Gabe wrote:I see people paying for this. Just my opinion of course. Like I said, if I'm gonna shell out over a grand every month to be close to the max and the old market, there are other options. (Unless the apartments are exceptionally luxurious; but if they're generic apartments, nope). And nonetheless, I'm still excited for this to be finished so that I can rent an overpriced spot in the garage
Re: 1501 Jackson (5 Story Apt Building)
Not exactly the same, but how much do the Rows at SoMa cost (railroad)?
Edit: I'm dumb. I spaced off those are condos.

Good point, but the Barker Building is asking people to pay in that same price range to live across from Whiskey Tango...I'd say the noise levels are comparable, although Whiskey Tango is not noisy every day of the week simply because it's closed some weeknights.JDJase wrote:I have a hard time imagining someone paying over $1,000 to live across the street from the fire station.
