The elevator/stair shaft on the west side of the building is about to the 3rd floor and the one on the east side rises up to the 4th floor. I took this picture from home. You can start to see where the building will stick up. Olny 2 1/2 more floors to go.

Are you gonna relocate once they get the jLofts up?  I'd imagine they're going to put a nice price tag on them.

and a sick and twisted desire to place a sprawling suburban style campus in a downtown area.

and without Mr. Harper (if I am correct) it would have ended 2 blocks further east and it would have still been a killer shot by DTO.

Yeah we really screwed the pooch but hey DTO took another really nice shot and let's celebrate that rather than dilute it with atrocities of the past.

Yeah, a nice shot of empty, deteriorating, bland buildings that without ConAgra would probably still be vacant!

I haven't had a chance to walk by the project lately ... my guess is that the "protesters" are one of the local union groups picketing the project.  Most likely their workers bid on the job, but didn't get it.  Again, I'm just guessing since I haven't actually seen what is happening.  This is actually pretty common.  I think the Riverfront and Paxton had a similar situation.

On another note, when is the projected completion for JLofts?  Will we see an '08 ribbon cutting?

The contractor is saying we are on track for December.  I'm expecting January or February though.

Thanks for the update!

I'm glad to see this project noticeably progressing.

I do wish it came all the way to 13th street, though.  Oh well.  It's still the |expletive|.

This is a link to our construction photo gallery.  Last photos are a couple weeks old now, we have poured the 5th floor since.

Attempts were made, but no luck :(

Oh well.  It's still the |expletive|.

Call me biased... as a guy involved since the early stages of the design, the sales manager, and a future resident.... heck ya its going to be the shizzle!  By late August, the exterior will be complete, and people will be blown away by it.  Renderings and models rarely do the real thing justice.  Not just the exterior will be sweet though, our job is going to get really easy once we can walk people through the lobby, corridors, and a couple of the larger finished units.

Any more downtown projects from this developer in the pipeline?

Yep, but nothing on the immediate horizon.  The focus is on jLofts right now.

We've got a pretty significant amount percentage of the bottom 4 floors enclosed now, should be fully enclosed and immune to weather soon :)

Nice photo Brad.

I'm surprised at how small the windows are going to be.  There filling up those large openings in the concrete with framing and small windows.

They're probably doing that so it fits in better with the Old Market.  I don't think an all glass building would look good here, but I'm not an architect so take that with a grain of salt.

You can see the window sizes when you look at the bare frames.  As they are putting up the yellow stuff, they have not yet cut the windows all the way back out, so it makes the windows look smaller than they really will be.

This is by no means a glass building, but there will be a significant amount of glass in the facade from the 3rd floor up.
