I love Aldi. They are in the midst of a huge corporate expansion and remodeling, and are refocusing on fresh and organic produce.

Aldi's sign is now up. Looked like a lot of equipment was already up and running inside. I bet it won't be long now.

I'm happy for the people who live around there. Walmart is the only grocery store within a mile of that intersection. I want to discuss how many grocery stores we've lost in the past few years, especially since the Family Fare thing happened. I myself have lost two grocery stores within walking distance of me in the past three or so years. The options are slimmer compared to a few years ago here in central Omaha. Anybody else noticing that the grocery stores are becoming centralized? That Walmart on 72nd is WAY too busy, maybe the Aldi will help, maybe a little? I think if we have to walk more than 10 minutes, drive more than five, or taking the bus is a no-go, then we have a problem.
