RED isn't wasting any time. I drove past there today & RED has an army of bulldozers & they've already started grading. They don't mess around.

Also, somewhere along Hiway 370 near the new mall it looks like there is a new motel going up or really almost enclosed.

The growth in Sarpy county is really amazing.

Wow... I must have totally missed the motel, where is it in relation to the Shadow Lake property? ... you sure you're not thinking of the Holiday Inn Express looking project to the south of Walmart on Kennedy? :)

$2.2 million OK'd for Sarpy road work

$2.2 million OK'd for Sarpy road work

http://www.omaha.com/index.php?u_pg=1636&u_sid=1463835
Sarpy County is in for $2.2 million in road work to ensure that traffic flows smoothly around Papillion's new shopping center.

Tuesday, the County Board approved a road construction agreement with the developer of Shadow Lake Towne Center, being built at 72nd Street and Highway 370. Sarpy County will contribute toward improvements on 72nd and 84th Streets south of Highway 370 and on Schram Road.

I was searching for any mention of new tenants for Shadow Lake, and found this bit. Looks like there is a Caribou Coffee going into the new strip mall on the NE corner of 72nd and 370.

Not big news to anyone here, but it does show a rendering of the strip mall. Good to see at least something happening on this project. The grading looks to be close to completed. They've moved a ton of dirt out there! Hopefully they'll start getting the streets in soon...

A quick update on the malls progress, courtesy of the Papillion Times. The mall is on schedule so far. There is so much dirt to move that you won't see buildings going in until late Spring...

According to the Papillion Times they will be lowering 72nd Street by 30 feet! I was wondering what would happen since there is now a huge hill on that side of the property...

And more from the article:
http://www.papilliontimes.com/site/tab6 ... 8801&rfi=6
By early July, though, residents will see crews pouring foundations and constructing walls, he said, and before that crews will be working to lower 72nd Street by more than 30 feet.
By late July or early August, Krouse said passers-by should be able to discern where buildings will be situated on the site.
And a Market Pointe update:
Sarpy County shoppers should have a new Wal-Mart, Kohl's and Lowe's to shop in this fall.

Thanks for the pic update. Looks like they are working on utilities still, one of the things shortly before they start construction.

I can't recall... was their speculation of a Bennigan's specifically at Shadow Lake? If not... perhaps we could post this as it's own thread.

There's work on a couple of restaurant sized foundations in front of Market Place (Wal-Mart/Lowes/Kohls). Bennigan's might be headed there, given that the location will be ready for hiring much sooner than SLTC.

I've heard from quite reliable sources that work on streets and foundations at SLTC has to wait for the two lake dams to be completed to the south, although they are close to completion now.

No kidding... I wonder if that's supposed to be the center cluster of 'lifestyle centerish' stuff... or if they're actually going to break up the big box look with a facade like this?

Really glad to see a Border's Books and Music store going in to SLTC. Papillion/Sarpy County has really lacked such a store until now. I'm also glad that World Market is joining the roster.

A couple of updates...

There is a new website: http://shadowlakeshopping.com/. You can sign up to be a VIP here, which I did but haven't seen anything from it yet, and suggest stores/restaurants.

You can see the locations of stores/restaurants when moving your mouse over the store name: http://shadowlakeshopping.com/stores.asp I was surprised that Hy-Vee is basically in the center of the mall and not on the outskirts (I was picturing more of an Oak View setup, so this could be cool).

They sent out a cool "Neighbor Update" flyer to residents in the area. You can see it here: http://shadowlakeshopping.com/post/news ... 202006.pdf
I really like the "Historic Architecture" picture that they created. It shows how SLTC is pulling in architecture from around the metro (mostly DTO).

And I don't have a construction photo, but the first building shell is going up and some streets have been poured!

This morning on my way to work I noticed that they have put the walls for two buildings. By the locations I assume that one is Hy-Vee and the other is JC Penney’s.

It's amazing the increasing traffic which you can sense along 72nd at Market Pointe... I'm sure 72nd and 370 will become quite the bustling center of activity as well.   It is truly remarkable how we've seen these new retail trade areas emerge so quickly... just a short time ago there was nothing, and now look at the 'bookends' which exist here and way up at Sorenson Park Plaza.

Nothing in MAPA's plans going out to 2030... just widening to Platteview.

Looks like a few more names have been announced for Shadow Lake Towne Center

http://www.ketv.com/news/10689795/detail.html

Some of the names that I do not remember seeing before Ore listed in the story.
The Video portion of this story says that Best Buy could open as soon as March

Victoria's Secret, Texas Roadhouse, Bath and Body Works
I looked on the Centers web site and the RED web site and did not find an updated complete list yet.
