90th & Tomahawk
Looks like something may finally be happening to this prime spot:
Re: 90th & Tomahawk
We will see, I won't hold my breath. I lived at 91st and Tomahawk for 10 years and watch that guy push around dirt Year after Year and nothing ever happned.
However seeing that new Box Culvert in the aerial, may be they are going to extend the frontage road all the way to the gas station?
On a side note, you can still see the old Chicago and Northwestern Railroad Bridge near the End of the Culvert. This is the same line that ran from the I80/I480/Kennedy Freeway interchange, between F and L Streets to about 60th where it started to head north west, through Aksarben, Though the Furniture Mart, to Irvington and then up to Arlington, NE where it met back up with the CNW Mainline.

Re: 90th & Tomahawk
I drive by this spot weekly and there seems to be more digging but nothing consistently being done. The whole has definitely gotten bigger and deeper.
Re: 90th & Tomahawk
Only thing I can find permit wise in the area are permits for a new cell tower and a building for the tower at 4605 N 90th St.

Re: 90th & Tomahawk
I drive by this regularly as well. It looks like there was a lot of construction / concrete waste that was dumped there at one time.

Sounds to me like it's just being used for a storage and borrow site for construction fill.

Re: 90th & Tomahawk
A while back I was going to start a thread on North 90th Street development, with all the new buildings from Blondo to Fort.
Now I just noticed that the Mutual of Omaha Bank on N. 90th will be getting a half mill. Makeover soon.

Starting to look like more than just rearranging dirt.. drove past and saw a team of site surveyers.. looking more like a new strip mall would be my guess.

Got gas ($3.21) at the Kum & Go today and saw this:
Re: 90th & Tomahawk
I wonder what is going in there. Whatever it is, it will be nice to fill that little gap on 90th. I personally hate undeveloped gaps in parts of the city that are otherwise developed.
Re: 90th & Tomahawk
What I noticed driving by a couple of it mimes is that they have moved a lot of dirty on both sides of the ravine/ditch but they didn't fill it in. So I wonder is that makes a pad area on each side.

The year done came. The year done went. On this site no funds were spent.
Re: 90th & Tomahawk
They did more than you think the land is now available for commerical use before it was just a dirt pile. They installed sewer drains under the dirt this year as well.
