What is being built behind the Burger King there? I know recently that a Dairy Queen was built in that area.

Anyone know definitively what is going in next to Burger King yet? I'm surprised to not see a banner or sign outside. I've heard Taco Johns (seems small), I've heard Starbucks (size would fit, but design is new to me). Just wondering what anyone has heard.

This is the most I can find, the blueprints of the shell building, but nothing specifically saying what it is. Good looking building though, I think at least.

Someone asked about a building across from the Mark. According to the Omaha permits webpage, there was a permit pulled for Medieval Putt Indoor Amusement at 20901 Cumberland Drive which would be across the street from the Mark.

Relatively speaking that location is not that old is it? At least compared to some of the the other metro area locations that I do not recall being updated.

The precinct, expected to open in July 2019, will house the department's SWAT team, plus the emergency response, bomb, traffic and uniformed patrol units. It's located northwest of 204th Street and West Dodge Road next to The Mark.

The Omaha City Council this week approved an $8.2 million contract with ConStruct, Inc., to build it. It previously hired Leo A. Daly to design it for no more than $715,500. The city last year bought the land it's on from the Elkhorn Public Schools Foundation for $1 million.

Time is critical in getting a SWAT team to a hot site fast. So why would you have them stationed clear out on 200th and Dodge :what: I bet the same genius who thinks its a good idea to have the arena clear down town could explain this.

I like how the artist's rendering only has two police officers in it. Everyone else is just walking and relaxing outside of a police precinct.

I noticed on the May 2019 planning map that 3 Minute Rocket Wash is going through approval to go in next to the NP Dodge by the Menards.

You'd have lost your mind if you lived in suburban Detroit when the Pistons moved from the Palace at Auburn Hills to Little Caesars Arena in downtown Detroit. The Palace is/was one of the finest arenas in the country. Of course, I have a feeling that if you lived here you never would venture beyond about 15 Mile Road anyway, but I could be wrong.

As to Omaha's arena being downtown there actually was a proposal to build it around 192nd and Dodge. It was proposed by the owner of a large acreage of land at 192nd and Dodge and was never really given consideration. So now you have that to think about.
