Andover Pointe Apartments (132 & Chandler Rd)

Post by RNcyanide »

There's been a lot of activity and dirtwork done up the street from Budweiser on 132nd Street where a cornfield once was. This spot is across the street from where Bounce U is/was. Anyone know anything, or know where I could go look?

At one time there was an apartment complex proposed for over there, not sure if that ever went forward or not.

That seems like it would have been really out of place there...

I believe you are talking about Andover Pointe on the east side of 132nd. 438 apartments within 17 buildings.

Opps, I must have counted wrong, 16 Apartments and one clubhouse, not 15.

Holy cow!!! It just seems like a strange spot. I wonder if they'll eventually do anything with that soybean field across the street so it doesn't seem so isolated.

I know the neighborhood tried to fight it a few years back. They are really going to need to get 132nd and Giles fixed in a timely manner. Is that is still scheduled for 2017? When you add in 1,000+ cars from this project plus the Alamo cinema, Boot Barn, Costco and other projects in Southport it is going to be a mess on Giles.

You can also go to the http://eomahaforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=6235
Go to the board index, click on "the Urban Residential INDEX Thread" all known apartments proposed, demolished, and otherwise conjectured about are listed and mapped.
If something is missing or inaccurate let me know. It can take a while to load the map depending on your computer. I doubt that you can open it on a mobile device. Perhaps it should have been posted someplace else but this appeared to be the best spot.
Don't stop asking though or we will miss something.

I used to drive by this piece of land everyday on my way home to and from work. I thought the natural layout of the land would have been best suited for townhome style apartments with the buildings following the natural flow of the land. Parking would have been parallel, while some had garages on the first floor (due to the slope of the land), while creating a cozy atmosphere. But since they've brought in a bunch of dirt to flatten it... eck.

Agreed... 1990's! And don't worry, there won't be sinking problems over time. Why oh why didn't they just build to the wonderful conforming of the land slope? They could have done nice townhomes that have attached garages underneath. No vision - ever.

The way these went up is very strange too. They'd have the first floor not even completely framed out and were already installing windows...
