Millard Family Hospital

Post by Coyote »

The NW corner 144th & Stony Brook Blvd will finally get a facelift. The old Phillips 66 gas station will be torn down and will be replaced with a 9638 sq ft Millard Family Hospital.

That gas station was called Smacks. I must of spent $30,000 and then some in there over the years. Back in the 90s that place was actually the cats meow. They made a fortune off that place.

Does anyone know who is behind this project? Is it an independent medical group? Just curious about possible job opportunities....

Wonder if its going to be one of those stand alone Emergency Rooms that people think are an "express care", but when they get the bill, the realized they charge ER prices? I have seen several stories about places like that on the national news.

Mike McKnight, WOWT's veteran dumpster diver, will be hot on the case if that happens.

Nope....never saw Mike McKnight there. I did see his Channel 6 team member Dave Webber at the Hy-Vee next door in the produce isle once. I obviously got nothing.

Has anyone stopped to look at the construction, and why are the builders out of Texas. Did we run out of construction workers. I think Omaha hospital partners would want Omaha workers.

Not if they're not the lowest bidder on the job.

Just because the General is out of the area doesn't mean there aren't local hires and local subs.

I drive by it about 5 times a week. It's coming along pretty quick but still upset the sub-par road that used to be behind the gas station is tore up and you need to drive through the U-Haul parking lot now to get to First National Bank.

The masons aren't local, I see them every morning they all arrive in the same truck from Texas.
