Kozal's Ponca Business Park (30th & I-680)
I may be a minority in this one, but I really wish QT or Bucky's would build at the 30th street exit at I-680. I spend a lot of time in the area north of the bridge and the station at that exit, along with the Cubby's at 48th and Highway 75 are both lacking. A modern gas station around that area would be really nice. It would probably get a lot of truck traffic too.

I agree with you. The traffic bipassing the city could definitely benefit from a gas station there.Busguy2010 wrote:I may be a minority in this one, but I really wish QT or Bucky's would build at the 30th street exit at I-680. Would you settle for Kozal's Ponca Business Park
Final plat approval tomorrow at the Planning Board...
"Lot 1 consists of 3.08 acres which we believe would be an excellent site for a full service convenience store, it could be sized to fit an end users purposes. Lot 2 will be a storage facility, lot 3 & 4 will be a garden center. Construction will begin this year."

Thank you for posting this. I live in Ponca Hills and have been wondering what is being done here. I thought about a gas station too. It could potentially catch a lot of semi traffic going up Highway 75. Although, getting in and out of there seems like it might prove frustrating. I have a hard time getting on the highway in the morning going to work.

I personally would prefer on the southeast corner of 30th and McKinley, but I realize there are restrictions there. That's kind of just a what if of mine. If this is serious and a QT were to build at the 48th street exit, I certainly wouldn't complain! It would remind me a bit of the Platte City QT outside of KC.

If they go with a service station electric chargers would be a wise addition.

I've noticed that whatever is at this location now is probably finished. Looked like a storage facility, in my passing.

Also, unrelated to the subject, but relevant to the area, the Mormon Bridge is being painted blue. The bridge has been a mint green my entire life, so this is significant to me. Anybody else care about this?

Okay so I guess a full service convenience store is still in the mix then? The storage facility just appeared to take up the whole hillside. I guess there's land still open that you cant exactly see from the interstate

Interesting, I like it. Bold, but not ugly.Busguy2010 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 15, 2019 12:10 pm Kind of a mix between the bottom two
Pretty bold considering the other bridges around here. Seems more like an Iowa or Minnesota thing to do, but I'm liking it so far. I wonder if Iowa suggested the color, in fact.

Probably a 80% Egyptian, 20% Azure mix to it.Louie wrote: ↑Thu Aug 15, 2019 3:23 pmInteresting, I like it. Bold, but not ugly.Busguy2010 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 15, 2019 12:10 pm Kind of a mix between the bottom two

They are also repainting the Mormon Bridges the same exact color. Looks great with the new color (and a fresh coat of paint in general).
