New Village Pointe Construction

Post by Coyote »

On the Northwest corner of VP I noticed a new restaurant being built.
If I remember correctly it is Mimi's Cafe:
http://www.mimiscafe.com

“Serving traditional American Classics with a dash of New Orleans and French Panache! Mimi’s Café is not a chain, but rather a collection of quality restaurants. Our atmosphere reflects the warmth of the French countryside and the lively energy of New Orleans. Our commitment to hospitality service and quality makes Mimi’s the best upscale family restaurant for our guests and our dedicated staff."

Also... It looks like construction on Best Buy is beginning.

West Village Point?

Post by Raraavis »

What is being built West of Village Point? The entire area from Village Point West to 180th is being leveled and prepared for something. Is this more retail or is it residential?

The prep to the west of Village Pointe is of course... West Village Pointe. Largely medical, with some retail/restaurants ... think Lakeside. No announcement that I'm aware of... but word is this may be the location of the next Methodist associated hospital (ie west Omaha's second full service hospital... by the way, Lakeside opens next month).

Jeff,

Is that Burke street that goes through the middle or is Burke to the south of this map. Also, isn't there movement just south of Burke at 168th?

That's it running through the middle (ie for others... the road through which you can access Village Pointe from 180th Street today).

Mimi's is on the Northwest side of the complex, with another restaurant being built on the backside of the theater.
