If its Cabelas, then hopefully next session the legislature can pass LB500 minus the retail component. Also, if its Cabelas good for the Nebraska Unicam for standing up to Cabelas and not letting them force a tax break. Now if its for that amusement park proposed a few months ago, thats a different thing.

Anyway, this sounds like a great development. Could Millard Lumber could be relocating to make way for that Millard Town Center??

All the Sarpy county Website says is that Millard Lumber owns the land, as far as actually building, I have no idea.

Just as I proposed... Cabela's can't stand the thought of Bass Pro Shops staking out a claim in their home state's largest market. They're going to build regardless of whether the legislature gives them incentives to do so or not.

Thanks for the exciting scoop Brad!

Great info Brad. It would be great if the Millard Town Center project got going again - their website has been defunct for a while.

They are at least prettier sounding street names than what we mostly have in Omaha.

Holy |expletive|, that is huge. The only thing I dont' like is the massive parking lot, but it is West O.

It's close to my parents house and near my apartment, I will be frequenting this often I'm sure.

Oh, and the brochure is pretty cool, too. Great find!

Completely agree! They could put up a parking garage and save enough space to build another large retail building.

According to their other page, there will also be a "theater complex". Was this announced before? I don't remembering hearing about it...

Wow, I can't believe they even mention "Lifestyle Center" on their website. How disgusting. All I see in that plan is huge, warehouse sized buildings and expansive parking.

Ya, I found it odd too. They mention "Big box development" and "Lifestyle Center" in the same paragraph. :?

Doesn’t a lifestyle center actually have housing in it as well as retail?

Have they built any of these "town center" type projects in Omaha yet? They seem to be the rage over here in new developments in the suburbs.

From the site plan...this doesn't look impressive. An over-hyped power center. Hopefully it has extensive landscaping. What is the major stand alone store that's shown?

Thanks for pointing out that DM fact that is so relevant. I’m surprised you don’t know if they build one here yet… I’m not sure if it a Cabela’s but I now a Cabela’s is going in out there some where, have they built a Cabela’s in DM yet since you brought it up.

If it's a Cabela's, that'll bring the traffic for sure (and additional support retail).

The big yellow blob is the Embassy Suites Hotel and Convention Center. The biggest brown colored buidling is probably the Cabelas. The little blue blobs are "ponds." The big blueish-purpleish thing is deemed "home improevement" but it is waaay to big for a Lowes or a Home Dept, or what comes to mind with "home improvement." It doesn't show up as anything on the site plan; it's blank. Everything else seems like it is up on the air. I'm sure we'll see a few plan changes before construction. It looks to be in the early stages still.

Image

If you look at the site plan on their web-site, the development looks like it could pan out to be a bit better than this crappy MS Paint picture. The parking doesn't seem any worse than any other suburban development. There's one lot that looks like it is designated for cars towing trailors, which I want to say many Cabela's stores have. Either way, this is looking to be pretty much a spot to draw traffic off the Interstate more so than it is to be a shopping center for locals.

If you look at some of the other projects they have done, they seem like very tradtional suburban developers. Not bad, but not spectacular or innovative. But with an Embassy Suites and a Cabellas signed on, I think you'd have to really slack off to screw up this development.

Is that where Millard Lumber is relocating to, or are they going somewhere else?

Millard Lumber was plannned to be in that area but that changed a month or two ago. You can see what was said in this thread.

Millard Lumber, long an institution in the middle of the Millard business district, plans to move to the old Avaya property northwest of 120th and I Streets. The Link to the story in the OWH is in the other thread.

Cabellas is right in the middle of all the parking. Also.... I would think Menards or Lowes, Home depot is right up the road

That is the outline of the entire lot, which would include the building as well as parking, setbacks/buffers and possibly another stormwater management pond. Thus, it would be about right for a Lowes or HD.

Don't forget about the two smaller lots in the front. Also lot lines are not set in stone. Cabellas is in the middle of the horse shoe.

There has been some grading going on at Southport East across Port Grace Blvd from Paypal and the CPA building. Any news on this tenant? Is it the Pinnacle Bank?
