I guess my other thought is why do you even want new franchises(new to the market or not)? Why not local/independent eating options?
Like what a Razzy's and Bronco's?
Grow up kid.

How about Pitch, Blatt, Orsi's, Stokes, Plank, Hiro, and numerous others to join Summer Kitchen.

Poor guy. When they announced that there likely won't be a tower on the Civic site, it broke him.

No. Those were just suggestions for local establishments that might consider expanding there.

Ole's Big Game Bar apparently bought a plot of land in the Southport area. Would be cool if they make it like their location in Paxton, I will say though their food has really gone down hill, they'll need to step up their game if they plan on this working out.

Every time I head out to Colorado, Paxton and Ole's is always a stop. Their biscuits and Gravy are still top notch. Are they seriously going to build something in the metro though?

Ole's makes the best mountain oysters in Nebraska. Hope they bring that recipe with them.

I hope it will be similar to Denver's Buckhorn Exchange.
Prime grade beef steaks, buffalo prime rib, elk, salmon, quail, game hen, and succulent baby-back pork ribs are just some of the marvelous offerings on the Buckhorn menu. Exotic appetizers such as alligator tail and buffalo sausage are available, and no dinner is complete without the house specialty, Rocky Mountain Oysters.

I can't imagine them pulling out of Paxton, it is a halfway stopping off point between here and Denver and a local staple.

With the Multi-Sports Center and the hotels popping up, I would not be surprised to see more unique sit down restaurants looking at Southport.

It was not your typical Brasilian steakhouse either. Was there a couple of times and it was good for what it was but not what you are looking for is a Brasilien steakhouse that most know

I actually liked the place a lot, was disappointed to see it fail. A different spin on the Brazilian steak house. A buffet with a gaucho chef serving a few meat selections. They charged by the pound. I thought the food was very good.

Once a format is established, you either go all in or go into some thing else. Dim Sum is a great example. In SF, there are restaurants that only serve that. They have a dozen or more options at a given meal, but you can't get an entree there. People learn that if you want Peking Duck, you go to the restaurant that sells it. If you want sweet pork buns, you go to the place that sells Dim Sum.

Once people got used to the Fogo De Chao style, they wanted that style.

Was it up with that one balcony on the Comfort Inn? Is that a common area or is it just for one room?

I haven't either. That said, when is the last time you seen any of these three story chain hotels with any balconies.

Looks like Playmakers Pizzaria Sports Bar is opening up in the strip mall by Alamo. Also, there is a sign up for an Amigos opening right next to the Burger King.

I'm liking how this area is finally taking off. It's nice to drive south from the 680/80 interchange, and see the horizon to the south filling w/ houses & retail & industrial, then go around the bend in I-80 and see the LaVista Conf Cntr skyline. It's almost like "Omaha's new playground" to live/work/eat/shop to me. Such prime land right off I-80.

Old news, but along with Dunkin' Donuts (5,625 s.f.) will be a Sports Clips (1,200 s.f.) and Moe's Southwest Grill (2,500 s.f.).
And a Cold Stone Creamery (1,793 s.f.) and Playmakers Pizza and Sports (6,500 s.f.) in the strip mall east of Alamo Theaters.

Is Dunkin using that whole building? It seems kind of big for a Dunkin Donuts.
