At least there is progress.  Nice to see, we need more construction jobs going around in this town.

I wish the state would have thought about the 168Th and Dodge intersection a little more.  The actual intersection is fine, but it puts other intersection to the north in awkward positions.  I think in the long run its going to be easier to enter Tribedo from 180Th street.  Best of luck to them.

Curious. I noticed when they had the two 10 story towers those were labeled as having 70 units per. Wonder what will happen with these. Though, lacking the retail, and with the space that gives, probably just your standard complex.

West Omaha development set to build after years of speed bumps
Cindy Gonzalez: World-Herald staff writer wrote:Arun Agarwal, chief executive of White Lotus, anticipates breaking ground for the first building — a 45,000-square-foot facility whose main tenant will be Deeb Realty — within a few months. Next in line is a 15-acre apartment complex with about 350 residences.

A multistory hotel, retail services, restaurants and entertainment venues also are anticipated, with those tenants yet to be secured. The area's primary use is to be up to 450,000 square feet of office space, said Agarwal, who hopes to land a corporate headquarters as anchor.

Its been a really long road for this development, its hard to believe it might actually get started. The biggest problem that they will face is the property has awful access. Its going to take a bad road and make it even worse. From what I hear, the state isn't going to allow left turns off of 168th street so people that are heading north on 168 are going to need to make U turns in other areas to get in there and the light at 180th north of Dodge is going to get backed up. My other fear is that it will push more people on to the historic Lincoln Highway and ruin it.

15 acre sports entertainment area sounds interesting. There is a chain called TopGolf that would be kind of cool in Omaha.

I'll have to find more specifics on this project then... I knew steel was going up, they mentioned this on Grow Omaha, along with the new frontage road. I'll have to get pics sometime...

The Frontage Road is going away and will be more of a "Main Street". It still looks like the map in your post from Jan 5th 2014.

Audi/Baxter is going to be building across the street from Nissan at Old Lincoln Hwy and Burt. It will be about twice the size of the Nissan building, ~56k sq ft.

This may be a dumb question, but what is motivating the concentration of auto sales in that one area?

Car dealerships have always congregated next to each other as a means to feed off each others customers. As for why there, probably just chasing where new homes are being built with expanding families in need of new and/or larger cars.

Baxter Auto Group has big plans at West Dodge Pointe: new headquarters and 3 'dramatically different' dealerships
A growing Omaha-based Baxter Auto Group is revving up with a new corporate headquarters to be built northwest of 168th Street and West Dodge Road, near three dealership structures the company currently has under construction.

The four-story home base, to be finished in mid-2019, will unify marketing, technology, human resources and other support team members now scattered in the auto dealership’s multiple stores.

“We’re in three states and 20 locations representing 15 brands,” said co-owner Angie Quinn.

They plan to lease half of the 86,500-square-foot office building set to rise at West Dodge Pointe, a 55-acre site north of Village Pointe shopping center.

Expected to cost up to $20 million, the facility designed by Carlson West Povondra is to be owned and managed by developer White Lotus Group. It will rise on a lot close to the West Dodge corridor, near 173rd Street. About 120 Baxter people will be based there. There would be room for Baxter expansion, or another tenant.

Baxter’s move follows a growth streak for the auto dealership that employs 1,900 (1,400 of them in Nebraska) and that sold about 40,000 vehicles companywide last year. Quinn said that count is up from the 700 employees, 11 stores and 18,000 new and used vehicle sales a decade ago.
