Loveland Centre (90th and Center)
Moderators: Coyote, nebugeater, Brad, Omaha Cowboy, BRoss
Jerry Kavan of Slosburg Real Property gave a presentation on Loveland Center Development tonight at The Loveland Neighborhood Association 2nd Annual Holiday Reception.
I learned that ground would be broken sometime this spring on a L-shaped brick building with stone arches on the northeast corner of 90th and Center. It will take about 13 months to build. The building may have a business with a drive-thru and restaurant with an outside eating area on the south side.
If enough interest is shown, a building on the west side of 90th street may be built a year later.
Jerry Kavan gave the presentation.

I do not have permission to post large photo of building elevations.

Actually, although perhaps not terribly inspired, the sidewalks in front and along 90th are much improved. Â The place will certainly look nicer as well. Â
Someday people will figure out how to do multi story versions of this stuff with office or residential on top.

Keep that arcade in the past. It took "a lot" of my hard earned money back in the day. If it hadn't closed I would probably still be in poverty.Silverspoon wrote:
And bring back that old arcade that was shut down around 1989... That would be sweet.
My son got a 27 on his ACT. No this score is not as high as what Jeff's son achieved. But one has to remember the paternal gene-pool my son has to overcome. On a PGPAB [Paternal Gene-Pool Adjusted Basis], my son's score is a 37 and Jeff's son's PGPAB ACT score is 19.
On my home from shopping at Hy-Vee at 90th & Center, I notices the grading has began for the new Loveland Center on the Northeast corner.
I heard steel frame should be rising sometime in May.

Not sure what was going on this morning, they have been moving dirt around but this morning, there was a tractor down in a hole and there was a white concrete like dust coming out of it. Â There were also to large trucks near the hole. Â Not sure if they were putting something in the hole or taking something out.

At least this will look much, much nicer than the center it replaces. Â Still, I wish this busy corner could have been built as a mixed use development, with housing as well as retail.

Looks decent, yes, but I'm a little worried that no tennats were announced. Â They said what they're hoping for, but not that they have anyone signed on yet. Â Really hoping this place doesn't sit empty, especially as its right down the street from my new house....nativeomahan wrote:At least this will look much, much nicer than the center it replaces. But y'know what would really make it classy? If it had a Pointe or Towne worked in there somewhere...

Im sure the pics at the top of the page are pretty close, its just an upgraded version of its former self. Â Better look and more green.Ben wrote:Steel is now up across the entire site. While its certainly still a strip mall, at least they put some roofline changes and a little character into it.
Still anxious to figure out what's going in here. Anyone heard anything?
