Ate at Market Basket this past weekend, the waitress said Spring 2015 they are moving to the Loveland area currently covered by plastic (North Side).

What's with the different colored concete archways along the sides of these buildings? It looks like they came from radically different batches. I hope they standardize them...looks awful. Other than that, I think the development looks nice.

They fixed it just this week. Looks like it matches now.garyomaha wrote:What's with the different colored concete archways along the sides of these buildings?
Re: 90th and Center Discussion
All the years of waiting, anticipating what was going to happen at 90th and Center... such a disappointment. They really could have created something special here.

I am surprised Slosberg did something to this area before they demoed the houses on 88th and made something more substantial.Stargazer wrote:All the years of waiting, anticipating what was going to happen at 90th and Center... such a disappointment. Re: 90th and Center Discussion
Agreed! ! This would've been a great location for a condominium development. 90th & Dodge is 5 mins north, Aksarben is 5 mins east, you can bike the trail to old mill or to Bellevue, it's on a bus route, HyVee is across the street, AND there's both an Indian and Asian grocery store nearby on 84th. I think they truly lacked vision and missed a big opportunity.Stargazer wrote:All the years of waiting, anticipating what was going to happen at 90th and Center... such a disappointment. Seems to happen a lot here. Not surprised and not impressed with the development.daveoma wrote:Agreed! ! When fortune smiles on something as violent and ugly as revenge, it seems proof like no other that not only does God exist, you're doing his will.

Slosburg still owns the property on the west side of the 90th and Center intersection. Hopefully once things pick up a little more in the economy, they'll move forward with that piece of this development. That's actually the much larger lot, with tons of potential for the sort of mixed use stuff we're all looking for.

Does that include the commercial buildings just south of Arbor street or only the empty land?Ben wrote:Slosburg still owns the property on the west side of the 90th and Center intersection. I am pretty sure they tried to buy more buildings, but when word went out concerning Slosberg's intentions, suddenly property prices went up....

Empty land only. Chad Carr of Ticket Express (the main office in that series of structures) owns that group of commercial properties.daveoma wrote:Does that include the commercial buildings just south of Arbor street or only the empty land?Ben wrote:Slosburg still owns the property on the west side of the 90th and Center intersection. Re: 90th and Center Discussion
Smoothie King has their signage up, and a drive thru window installed in the far southeast corner of the building, facing Center street. According to their facebook page, they're hiring, so shouldn't be long on this one....
Re: 90th and Center Discussion
Fashion Cleaners opened this week.
Re: 90th and Center Discussion
There is a sign-up now on the building for "long dog fat cat".

Re: 90th and Center Discussion
Plumbers were working in the big "anchor" space on the south end of this building. Trenching for piping, which would imply that is being built out for someone. Has anyone heard news about a lease being signed?

Re: 90th and Center Discussion
Has anyone eaten there?
Re: 90th and Center Discussion
Yes, I've eaten at the new market basket. Very limited menu, price point is not conducive to a local neighborhood joint that you can just pop into when you don't feel like cooking (similar complaints to their old location too though, I was never a huge fan). Excited for their takeout business, but they didn't seem to have to selection up and going yet when were there (over a month ago). They have several cooler cases for what will be pre-prepped meals/salads, but only had a couple of items stocked the night we were there. I have a feeling they're still training kitchen staff, as the menu was sort of limited - I think they lost most employees when they were shut during the transition.
In other news: Loveland Nails has a sign up in the bay next to Smoothie King. Store isn't ready though, still doing drywall.

Re: 90th and Center Discussion
Everbloom, what appears to be a home décor retailer, has opened by the cleaners.
They are doing what appears to be a parking lot expansion on the southwest corner of this lot. The area that was originally intended for an outlot business. Looks to be adding 1 more row of spots (maybe 6-8 spots total). I wonder if a prospective tenant in the big anchor space is requesting more spots?

Dunkin Donuts and Planet Sub are moving in.
Also, should we rename this thread to Loveland Centre?

A sub shop and coffee/donut place will do well there. I am also hoping for another restaurant. Maybe pizza.

Somewhere Native Omahan posted about multiple bays. The building looked small until they started adding the yellow walls, now it looks big!
