Portal Plaza
They have begun the grading for Portal Plaza and Portal Plaza South:
they have to be 1 foot above the 500 year flood plain to get a building permit.jhuston wrote:Hey! Nice find.
All of this has me thinking about that nationally published article which warned of our over developing in floodways (as a nation overall).

Does the official '500 year flood plain' ever change due to the area's dam system?
I think heck Creek is the only un-damed creek system in the Soutport/Brook Valley/Portal Plaza area,
and I could be wrong with that.
THe 500 year flood plain is determined by those dreaded FEMA maps.

Re: Portal Plaza
The Portal Plaza South is about done, a new strip next to Gravity. I think I recall hearing who was going in there, I will have to go back and see what I can find, but there is also a Papillion Publics Works building across the creek on the west side of the Detention Center, and they have started grading on the east side of the center now. Just south of the Kum & Go there is another building going up, I think it may be a bank? But Papillion's 108th/Portal St is starting to get real busy.

I live pretty close to this bit, there is a lot of open land around 108th and Giles. Can't help but wonder what's going to be next.
I also noticed a little farther west on Giles there's a "Shoppes on Giles" or something coming soon?

Weird, the sign looked new and it was visible. Kind of a bummer. Thanks Coyote!
