It opened on Sunday. The company had been sold since they left Omaha and a lot of the quality on the stuff seemed to be less than when they used to be here. The food/beverage section is still as good as it used to be though.Coyote wrote:I, for one, can't wait from World Market to return!

I was in one in KC about six weeks ago. To my eye I didn't notice a difference from what was there quality wise to what I was used to seeing in the past.
For the record NEBUGEATER does not equal BUGEATER !!!!!!!
Re: Official: L Street Marketplace
The furniture and rugs seemed subpar to what they used to offer. The wine selection while ok isn't as price competitive as it was the first go around in Omaha either. Additionally their "passport" membership or whatever they're calling it wasn't around last go around either. Don't get my wrong I went to the Des Moines Store 3 times after they left and I'm trilled they are back.nebugeater wrote:Mr.Nuke wrote:It opened on Sunday. Yes, I was less than thrilled after walking through the store. Far fewer items from previous stores. The only thing good was the wine & beer section, and the beers are not all that it could be. The kitchen section is a joke, the posters/wall hangings almost non-existent, and the food section half what I was expecting.

YAY!! I'm so glad Cost Plus opened again in Omaha. I used to go to the one on 76th all the time.

I visited the store yesterday, along with hundreds of others. I'm very happy to have them back. And, for the next week or so ALL red and Rose wines are 20% off!

What is being built here? That's a large piece of property.

You may want to pay a visit. A Pullman car and Central Pacific "Promontory Point" were in the process of being delivered this morning when I drove by.Brad wrote:The display track for the new tie yard office just west of Miller lumber has been installed. I can't wait to see some old railroad equipment sitting on it! I'll get a good picture soon as the sun is at a better angle.

Some time between 10 and 10:15 this morning, they moved two train cars in, possibly the same two referenced above. They were being pushed by a "Trackmobile". I have a couple crappy cell phone pix that I'll post when I figure out the syntax.Brad wrote:Cool, what were they using to move them?Mr.Nuke wrote:You may want to pay a visit. I always thought that place would fold. It always seemed a little strange to me.

So that leave the Books bay and the Best Buy bay still empty? I am surprised Best Buy is still empty.

I'm surprised it does as well as it has been doing. The parking is a cluster{expletive} and it's a real nightmare to get in and out of.Brad wrote:So that leave the Books bay and the Best Buy bay still empty? I am surprised Best Buy is still empty.
I avoid the place when I have any other options!

I take "I" street in from the east and its painless... However I see all the people that use the middle drive off of "L" and that always looks like a huge cluster.

I street from either east or west is great. I go there frequently to hit PETCO. 120 to I, and then turn in. No troubles.Brad wrote:I take "I" street in from the east and its painless... However I see all the people that use the middle drive off of "L" and that always looks like a huge cluster.

A new building is going up here.. To house...?
Re: Official: L Street Marketplace
Whats the address?
There is really only one empty lot in what was originally the L Street Market Place, which is 12170 K PA. But I don't see any permits for that lot.
However another developer built 9 more lots north of I street where that Murphy's gas built and now a "Tommy's Express Carwash" is going up at 4225 132nd Street Omaha NE 68137. Tommy's Website: https://tommys-express.com

Did Petco leave here?
I think Five Below is taking its place.

Re: Official: L Street Marketplace
It was there a couple of weeks ago. I hope that one does not close. It's really the only place I go to there.

Petco was still open today. The bay next to it (former Office Depot/Max) has been empty a while, possible Five Below is going there?
Re: Official: L Street Marketplace
Ulta was still open when Iast went there. Those (Ulta and Petco) are really the only places I regularly go there. I avoid the WM/SC/HD there mainly because the in/out traffic can be such a nightmare.

Yeah I avoid those places for the same reason. I shop at the Super Target there regularly though. I believe all of the bays in that strip except the former Office max are filled and open.

Old Navy going in here.
Re: Official: L Street Marketplace
We’ve lost a lot of books stores. Three borders, one Barnes & Nobles (in CB) and Books-a-million. Every time I went to Books-a-million it was pretty much empty. The Barnes & Nobles in Mall of the Bluffs was nice with big windows along the north walls. To bad the people in CB and southwest Iowa couldn’t support it. Must not be enough population there for that kinda stuff. Much nicer than the dumpy smelly Crossroads store, which still remains open to this day.

Five Below is going in the old Office Depot between Ulta and Petco. Construction sign has now been replaced with the "coming soon" sign.
