They're basically beginning their slow spiral towards becoming a high-end "phone & smokes" kind of place. Â The only high ticket items they have are TVs, and they aren't high margin or high volume any more. Â CDs are dead. Â DVDs are dead. Â BluRay is mail order.
What do they have left? Â Overpriced HDMI cables?

The worst is if you are at Target and trying to get to Home depot, the 126th and K plaza intersection. Â There is almost no break in the traffic coming up the hill from "L" street on a busy day. Â Its usually faster and safer to go back to the north and around that intersection. Â If target would have had one more connection to 126 further north, I think a lot of congestion would have been avoided.cdub wrote:What aspect in particular?

Have you tried to pull into the DiVentures behind BestBuy? Â That has to be the most poorly designed entrance in Omaha. Seriously, what is going on here?
"This is America. Â It is my God given right to be loudly opinionated on issues I am completely ignorant of."
I think it would really help if they put a traffic light there. I know traffic lights aren't cheep, but it seems like an easy solution to that whole area.Brad wrote:The worst is if you are at Target and trying to get to Home depot, the 126th and K plaza intersection. That might not be possible since the intersection is so close to L Street. I can see traffic coming from the North backing up to the highway during busy times.OSILayer8Support wrote:I think it would really help if they put a traffic light there. On the other hand, a roundabout might work there.

At least the hookers in my neighborhood have the decency to just stand out on the street.Four people are charged with operating an interstate prostitution ring disguised as legitimate day spas in Omaha for several years.
Two spas operated on 72nd Street south of Dodge Street, according to the federal indictments. Two others operated near 93rd and Maples Streets and 87th Street and West Center Road.

Good God, that place just gets better and better. They need to try to draw more people to the little town square building things in the southeast. Last I checked they are only about 1/2 full.jessep28 wrote:The lot at 12540 K Plz, to the Southwest of Target is fenced off. It will be a Starbucks. I can see them building the Drive Thru entrance on K Plz, making that intersection even worse.

I would think that that would constitute encroachment on Target's franchise of their Starbucks.RNcyanide wrote:Good God, that place just gets better and better. So there aren't sidewalks. Honestly, who cares? Like anyone would want to walk, run, bike in this area of town anyway. They voted it worst based only on the fact that there aren't sidewalks for pedestrians. So that makes it "worst intersection"?.... how about uh 120th and Center or 90th and Dodge or the S turn headache on Dodge St?
There has to be a worse intersection in the US than this. If they added sidewalks, then they would automatically be taken off the list.
There seems to be multiple fatalities on 144th and Harrison every year.mrgoldsmith23 wrote:Joe_Sovereign wrote:More fuel for those of us who hate this development. It wins a prize.

Building being built in front of Target @ L st Marketplace
Anybody have any idea what is being built there? Looks to be some sort of food place since it appears to have a drive thru on the east side.
Picture doesn't show the building obviously, but I circled where it's being built.

Millard Lumber (129th & I) is going to build an office (13k sq ft) on the SW corner of their property with a private spur off the rail line from the north so they can display antique rail cars on this site.

I was under the impression the Omaha Tie Yard was building the office building. They occupy the lot behind the building (if you recall, the noisemakers that got the neighborhood fired up a few years back.
