West Maple to Elkhorn

Post by Kristi »

If anyone has drivent by 168th and West Maple, you will notice grading for the much needed  "Super" Wal-Mart has started. Does anyone know if it is going to look similar to the one West Center?

Also, for anyone that ventures out West... Indian Creek has a new bank going up and there is also another building under construction to the east of the bank. The bank looks like it is going to be quite large (for Elkhorn). They both are designed to match the exterior of the clubhouse and look really nice. Does anyone have any idea what is to go in the building east of the bank?

Road construction is complete on 180th between Maple and Blondo. You can now travel from West Center all the way to Maple Street. Finally a street that goes all the way through.

I believe it will look like the one on 130 and west center not 180 and west center. 180 is blue, 130 is tan. and brick.

Actually, for the time being it is open. I am sure it will close before too long. I am talking about the road that goes past the Sandlot. It is gravel for a few yards between the Sandlot and Dodge Street, but you can get through. Unless they have changed it in the last couple of days. I travel it frequently.

I am not sure, but it wouldn't surprise me. My husband is from Elkhorn and I remember when I first started dating him in '87, there was nothing on Dodge Street. Now when I drive down it I don't even recognize it anymore.

I must admit I do love having all the new places to eat and shop. I am really excited about the Best Buy... and The Melting Pot going in at Village Pointe. I have eaten at the one in KC and it was a lot of fun. Great place to go with friends or on a date.

My husband doesn't care for it... it's too much work he says!?!

I think its a very exciting drive down Maple from 132nd west to just past Valley. The potential of things happening, merging, expanding is all very raw out there. Where West Maple joins 275 its a rural interchange and freeway that by its very scale and presence indicates such an incredible dynamic. Watching this area take shape is great.

Does anyone know anything about the new development that is East of 192nd and West Maple? I'm not sure of the cross street, but it is on the South side of Maple. I got a glance of a new sign, but didn't really get a good look at it.
