It seems like they are demolishing the gas station and restaurant. It was such an eyesore!
Is it part of the South 24th Street Widening they are currently working on?

Re: 24th Street
there are many other establishments that id call an eyesore before this. could it look more appealing? yeah...but for what it is(was), it isnt *that* bad.Omaha_Gabe wrote:It seems like they are demolishing the gas station and restaurant. It was such an eyesore!

i echo the sentiment. not to nitpick, but because, in that location, it makes a significant amount of sense to have one. there are a few others within a mile of 24th but there is an incredible amount of interstate traffic that is well served by them all. anything else wouldnt 'fit' for how it is zoned and what exists already. had it been on a major road that wasnt adjacent to other stops & inexpensive hotels, i could see the justification for something more appealing and/or significant.nebugeater wrote:Out of curiosity what were you expecting in this location.nativeomahan wrote:According to channel sux they are replacing the old truck stop with........... With all the changes to the interstate, I was hoping the truck stops were going to move to a different location as this would be the section of the new interstate where you can bypass CB

New Council Bluffs Sapp Bros. restaurant under construction
