Griffin Pipe

Post by nebugeater »

I didn't see any mention on here that Grffin Pipe was bought out recently. At the time of the buyout some of the news reports were mentioning some layoffs as a possibility. I am hearing from some people that I know with contacts that work there that it is looking like it will be more than some layoffs. I am hearing that they are going to close the doors. Anyone else heard anything.

I know quite a few people that work there. Apparently they want to make changes to 401k and pensions not sure if it is elimination or canceling completely. They are to lay off people and if the union does not agree to the new terms within 60 days they will close the CB center completely

COUNCIL BLUFFS — Griffin Pipe Products, a longtime Council Bluffs business that currently employs an estimated 250 people, will close its doors in early May, a city official said Monday evening.

City Council member Lynne Branigan said she and other City Council members, along with Mayor Matt Walsh, received notification from U.S. Pipe Holdings of Hoover, Ala. — a subsidiary of U.S. Pipe and Foundry of Birmingham, Ala. — that Griffin Pipe “has decided to close the Council Bluffs facility on or about May 3, 2014.”.......................
