Love's is showing some in Mills County as new travel center is announced
A groundbreaking ceremony was held on Wednesday for a Love’s Travel Stops store just south of the junction of Interstate 29 and U.S. Highway 34.
Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores, commonly referred to simply as Love’s, employs 17,000 people in its family-owned chain of more than 420 truck stop and convenience stores in 40 states, including Iowa.
The 9,000-square-foot travel center will create up to 50 new jobs and should begin operations this fall. The company is investing between $8 to $12 million into this new location, Porter added.
Motorists will be able to gas up from among six bays with two pumps per bay or from six diesel pumps. For truckers, the center will offer 88 parking stalls for overnight rest, along with five showers. A tire shop is also part of the project, Porter said, along with a Subway’s Sandwich Shop with seating for up to 60 patrons.
