Any doubts about the state of growth in Council Bluffs can be put to rest with a look at the number of building permits issued during the fiscal year ended June 30.
A record 263 permits were issued for single-family homes during the fiscal year, an increase of five from the previous 2004-05, and up significantly from the 151 in 2003, and the 206 of 2004, said Dan Woellhof, the city's building official. For the calendar year 2005, there were 280 permits issued.
