I am curious how close to launch they are. Driving by, it looks close.

According to managers I've spoken to, looking like towards the end of January, thinking around the 20th or so.

Word on the street is the 21st. Drove down there and it looks ready to go. Will definitely be nice for the north/west ends to have retail (and additional grocery) options. The manawa power centre is getting out of hand and will be good to not have to always go there.

I agree. I grew up on this end of town within walking distance of the new Walmart and my parents still live there. It is going to be great to not have to drive all the way to the south end of town for retail. Not that I buy clothes at Walmart, but it will also be nice having a retail store with clothing (there hasn't been one on this end of town since Gordman's moved to the Manawa Power Centre over 10 years ago)

You couldn't find extra clothing at Lipstix?

I wonder if This might spur a little more retail development along N 16th, at least from here to 29....

I am thinking that maybe a few small restaurants or sandwich shops might open adjacent to Walmart like they always do, but unfortunately there isn't much population base to the north. And to the South is Broadway which already has two grocery stores and lots of fast food restaurants.

I know some of the space is still available in the Bluffs Northway strip center just to the south of Walmart.

It is obviously much nicer than its cross town sibling. No tire department but its the updated format and feels much more open. Prices are in line with the other store on most items, and even has a few other ethic food items the other store doesn't have. Part of that is just for the grand opening, but hopefully they keep a few around. One feature i really liked was that they had select beers located in a wall cooler up front adjacent to the tnb pizzas & deli. This is a great addition to the west end of cb.

Nice, I didn't look to see who was in the existing building to the west, but I believe there was just a mound of dirt where the two new buildings are going...

Yeah where building 2 is shown is currently a large dirt pile. The area where building 3 is shown is currently a parking lot.

I noticed that all the walls for building 2 were up last weekend. No idea on what is going in there yet.

As soon as someone knows what businesses are going into the new Bluffs Northway building, please tell me what they are.
