Woodfield: Low-Impact Development

Post by icejammer »

Woodfield is low-impact
Low impact on the land, high impact on the eye.

That's the working philosophy at the Woodfield Subdivision two miles north of Glenwood. Located on the Loess Hills Scenic Byway, the 175-acre residential development is the antithesis of the typical stripped and dirty construction site.

"I hope this becomes the standard in the Loess Hills," said Rich Maaske, urban conservationist with the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship. "Development and conservation can come together. This is proof." . . .
"Destiny is not a matter of chance, it is a matter of choice; it is not a thing to be waited for, it is a thing to be achieved."
