I agree. I really wish Bellevue could come up with something like this for Old Towne Bellevue.

A few blocks to the west, but EQ School of Hair Design is moving and the owner of this building has a good lead on a potential buyer. Hopefully they are able to do something nice with it (maybe including taking the paint and ugly facade off and restoring the building):

712 Initiative are apparently purchasing the EQ building, the building next to it (12 Scott St) and the parking lot across the street for mixed use developments (looking to add 60 housing units) https://www.nonpareilonline.com/news/lo ... b40fd.html

I saw Boxer Barbeque is moving to a space downtown and opening a full bar in the new location. Downtown council bluffs is slowly heating up

Went to Lincoln's Pub this week, in the former Dixie Quicks space. Really good food. Had the Wagyu Meatloaf and my partner had the Salmon on a chile grit cake with a avocado crème , pico and baby vegies. Very reasonable. 15.00 each. the place was packed, midweek.

Great to hear! Both have been on my to-do list, but I haven't found the time yet.

I haven't snapped a picture of the complete new building yet (Rise), anyone have one?

I think the building looks good but the backwards "S" and "E" on the sign look a little weird for a building in a historic district. But overall, it is a great addition to the area.

The owner of Lincoln Pub is opening up a new cocktail bar next door today. Looks like another good fit for the area. Boxer BBQ will open October 1st

Lincoln Pub is legit. I'm liking what's going on in Old Town CB. Some old timers there have been rubbed the wrong way by the "hipster vibe" that's invading downtown, but they can pound sand as far as I'm concerned. That area needs things like this.

I wish the Old Market would follow suit and spruce things up some. As mentioned here before, the sidewalks need sprucing up and the area needs cleaned up some as well. The 100 Block is a great example of re-purposing old buildings and blending in new buildings to match the surroundings. It is also nicely lit at night. Something that the Old Market sorely lacks as well.
