Minneapolis Restaurants

Post by brick »

anybody have any recommendations for restaurants in downtown minneapolis?  my wife and i will be celebrating our 5-yr anniversary this weekend, and we will be up there for the weekend.  It's a family function, so don't have much time to see other sights, but should have enough time to get away and have dinner.  Appreciate any suggestions.  Thanks!

The Twisted Fork Grill in St. Paul on Grand Ave. offers an excellent brunch.

I don't suppose you overlooked the posting that this weekend is the gay pride parade in Minneapolis?

Do you avoid Lincoln on game days, too?  Because you just described every 1-A and NFL football game I've ever been to in my life.

Heck, I saw a few bad apples last fall way down in Nebraska City.  Of course I was at the orchard during the apple harvest festivals!

Dakota Jazz Club and Restaurant, also on Nicollet, is awesome ... go when Davina and the Vagabonds are playing... keeping in mind, there's a $12 cover charge, and the food can be pricey (we opted for the $39 3-course 'special')... but it was very tasty... not massive Cheese Cake portions mind you... so, depending on whether you like what you got or not, you may come away with sticker shock (I spent $300 after tax with my wife and two sons, a great 'family' dining experience... but didn't regret it at all).
Shoot for the Moon... if you miss, you'll land among the stars.
