1890s "Great Tower for London"

Ran across this today and thought some of you might enjoy this. It's an old documentation (1890s) of 68 building proposals for an equivalent of the Eiffel Tower in London.

This is fascinating.  So many of the designs resemble the Eiffel Tour.  Perhaps this is why nothing came of it.
